Gender Pay Gap: Early Analysis Finds Fall To Record Low Early analysis of the gender pay gap data for the 2023/24 reporting year by the Guardian has found that there has been a fall in the gender pay gap to a record low for the period since gender pay gap reporting became compulsory in 2017/18 for employers with 250 or more employees. Civil Service Sickness Absence Rate Increases A new report has found that sickness absence in relation to civil servants increased from 7.9 average working days lost in the year to the 31st March 2022, to 8.1 days in the year to the 31st March 2023. Sickness Absence Rates At Highest Level Since 2004 New research just published by the Ulster University Economic Policy Centre (UUEPC) has found that sickness absence rates are at their highest since 2004. The research found the following:- The overall sickness absence rate in the UK increased by 0.7% from 1.9% in 2019 to 2.6% in 2022, the highest rate since 2004 (2.7%). The rate represents an increase of 0.4% compared to 2021, when the rate was 2.2%. The rate of 2.6% equates to 185.6 million days lost due to sickness, an increase of 47.4 million since 2019.
