As a Personal Image Consultant, I cannot tell you how much I love accessories because I know they are outfit completers. If someone asked me, what is the no. 1 thing to do to be more stylish, and I would answer “accessorize.” You see, most people do not pay enough attention to details. Accessories such as purses, jewelry, belts, hats, makeup, nails, hairstyle, hair accessories, scarves, sunglasses, and even hose/tights can make an everyday outfit – amazing! What I also like about accessories is the investment is not huge, and thus if you don’t love an accessory the next year, you can donate it ..read more

(See the giant incline out of the Metro in Dupont. It always impresses me!) The last time I visited DC was pre-COVID; at that time it was February. As an Indianapolis Wardrobe Stylist, I wore a tan trench coat and a wool sheath by Brooks Brothers. This time it was 3 weeks later; therefore,  I thought a trench coat was too much. Instead, I wore a navy blazer with gold buttons by Veronica Beard. That look was good, but I did see trench coats worn by some women; however, they were short trench coats. I saw a handful of these, often worn with a pants ensemble. They were fitted and over the hi ..read more

Spring 2024 Trends, Part One We can now see some of the trends from the fall shows (for spring) out in the stores. It is always a fun, exciting time for me as a stylist to see the spring and summer clothes come into my favorite stores. As a Carmel Wardrobe Stylist, I am a big color person. So I celebrate the warmer months as a time to show your style, color, and fun. My best colors are spring colors. When I had my colors done, my teacher told me to think of my “wow” colors are all the flowers blooming in spring such as lilac, coral, yellow with the green stems. It is so true! Incorporating a pop of color into your outfit can be a fun and stylish way to express yourself. Here are some tips for wearing a pop of color: Start Small – If you’re new to wearing bold colors, start with small accessories like a colorful scarf, a vibrant pair of shoes, or statement earrings. This allows you to experiment without feeling overwhelmed. Balance is Key – Pair your pop of color with neutral tones to create balance. This can include white, black, gray, or denim. This helps highlight the colorful element without it being too overpowering. Color Blocking – Experiment with color block ..read more

This year will be my 10th year to be a personal stylist. I was certified in 2017, but to even start that process I had to have more than 100 hours or training. Anyway, I hope to continue to share my expertise with you for more years to come! Because the more clients you work with, the more you learn, and you benefit from that. Today I am going to talk about some style mishaps we’ve all made at some point in our lives! Not taking off tacking and labels off of coats. If you have bought a blazer or have one in your closet, double check and make sure you have removed the taking on the back vent ..read more

Men, this blog is focused on you and what I often see men do when purchasing clothes or just picking their day to day wardrobe, as a Carmel Wardrobe Stylist. Carmel Wardrobe Stylist Work Attire Suggestions First, I know this sounds like a broken record, but we all know: Since the pandemic in 2020-2021, we’ve become even more relaxed in our wardrobe. As a Carmel Wardrobe Stylist that has been around for a while, the loafer is not a new shoe option. One of the services I provide is a Color Analysis Indianapolis consultation. I do this for men and women, however, I do enjoy working with men just because there are so many more options for them now beyond the suits of yesterday. Also, for many years now, well beyond COVID, work dress codes eased up making the formal business look not an everyday requirement. Yet, while change is inevitable and we have to embrace it, we make the decisions every day in our lives that impact our image and how others see us. I am guilty of it as well. sometimes, after I have worked out and then have a coffee mee ..read more
