The current ski season may not be fully over, but now is the best time to commit to a multi-resort pass for the 2024-25 season. The lowest rates for the popular Ikon Pass suite won’t be around for long, with prices set to rise after April 18, 2024. Current Epic Pass prices will likely remain for the next few months, but those who want 10 discounted buddy tickets will need to purchase a pass by April 14, 2024. With these deadlines fast approaching, you may be debating whether to pick up one of these passes for next season. You may also be wondering whether any alternatives to these ..read more

Starting this December, segments of Interstate 70 such as Loveland Basin (pictured above) will require a toll to drive through during peak times.   Colorado’s ski resorts have struggled to handle the influx of traffic and crowds on weekends and holidays over the past few seasons. Now, the state believes it has a solution. Starting on December 1, 2024, the state will implement “congestion pricing” to access Interstate 70 between Avon and Georgetown, which is the segment where all the major ski resorts are located. Vehicles will have to pay $15 to enter this zone on all weekends and ..read more

PeakRankings

Similar to much of North America, the Midwest ski season started well below average in terms of snowfall. But unlike the rest of the continent, the ski season never really bounced back in the Midwest, leading to closures at some of the most prominent ski resorts in early March or even late February. Some resorts were unable to ever open at all, leading to the loss of winter activities within many communities across the region.  So what happened in the Midwest this season, and what does this mean for the future of skiing in the region? In this article, we’ll go through exact ..read more

The Creekside Express is Schweitzer’s fifth high-speed lift and the first new lift installation since 2019.   For the 2023-24 season, Idaho’s Schweitzer performed a major upgrade to its sole beginner area. The resort replaced its ancient Musical Chairs double lift, which served the resort’s only two green trails, with the Creekside Express, a modern, high-speed quad. As part of the installation, the Idaho panhandle resort extended the new lift line downward, extending the Happy Trails run over a brand new skier bridge and a few hundred extra feet of terrain.
