Any technical folks on this forum that can answer this question? The supplied power adapter for the Tslim pump is 5W. I have one of these power banks which I think is at least 10W. Is this going to be a problem charging the pump? Romoss Buy ROMOSS PSP10 Power Bank 10000mAh Slim Portable Powerbank 10000 mAh USB... Omnipod infusion site failures

I’ve been trying out the Omnipod 5 and there’s a lot I like. The thing I have trouble with is the infusion sites. They mostly start out fine but many end up failing and I also worry about how much damage they cause if they last the full three days. – Failures. I’ve used 6 pods so far and in 3 or 4 cases, the site has given out before the three days that the pod is supposed to stay on. When I pull off the pod, the area is often wet with insulin that leaked out. The only way I know that the site doesn’t work is my blood sugar doesn’t come down despite boluses. I think I could cut down on the fai ..read more

Omnipod 5 "Smartadjust" pod-to-pod changes

Just had my Omnipod 5 training. I’m intrigued that the system changes your underlying basal rates with each Pod change based on your previous pod sessions. My question is: is there any way (perhaps using Glooko or the PDM) to see what the changes it makes are? Also, does anyone have a sense of what it’s changing and how? I’m referring to the pod to pod changes not the 5-minute adjustments that are based on your predicted BG. For example, is it simply upping your underlying basal from the previous sessions if it sees that you were consistently needing extra insulin to correct for highs or does ..read more

Silhouette infusion sers

I have been using Silhouette 17mml cannula infusion sets for about 4 months. I was having good results with them. I had only a few that were not successful. Just recently about 2 weeks ago I my sets were only going for 2 days where as before they would go the full 3 days. The cannula seems to leave my skin with a big red dot. I was wondering if I switched to the 90 degree sets I would have better luck. I was on the Mio advance before but I was getting sites in a blood vessel and then my sugars would go high. What do you suggest? 1 post - 1 participant Read full topic ..read more

When Technology Fails

People often respond to me in disbelief when I tell them this is still extremely hard one year after diagnosis and a full time job even with the Omnipod 5 pump. It’s not just disbelief it’s somehow relayed as though it should be easier so if it’s not the problem must be me or maybe that’s just how I receive it. These are also people who do not have T1D themselves nor do they have a child with T1D. The uncertainty is what makes this so hard for me and having to make decisions and judgments when you really aren’t sure. I did a Dexcom G6 sensor change on my 3 year old the other day. Correct steps to start new G6 and new xmtr on pump, tandem iPhone app and Dexcom iPhone app

I use a tandem Tslim pump and the Dexcom G6 sensor. I use the tandem iPhone app and I also use the Dexcom iPhone app. I do not use either company’s receiver. I’m stumped. I always mess up the process of starting a new G6 and a new xmtr because I use both the tandem iPhone app and the Dexcom iPhone app and both of them need the new xmtr code and I never know which device’s app to enter the code in. Tonight, I did these steps in this order and it didn’t seem to work like I thought it would. Insert new G6. Insert new Dexcom xmtr (I had gotten a msg on the Dexcom app saying I needed to insert the ..read more

Tandem mobi -- no screen thoughts

I’m at the end of my Tandem t:slim X2 warranty and I’m thinking of replacing it with the Mobi. The thing that holds me back is the lack of a screen. I carry my iphone with me everywhere so it shouldn’t be a problem 98% of the time, but I worry about that last 2%. What if I have some sort of glitch with bluetooth or with my phone losing its charge or with a problem with the app (as just happened with t:connect)? Tandem explained that I could transfer the control of the Mobi from my phone to (for example) my wife’s phone and still be able to control my pump, but I’m not always with my wife. What ..read more

T:connect not as connected

In the last few days, each time I open the t:connect app on my iPhone, it either starts slowly repopulating the data backwards or, less frequently, it has lost connection. Up until now, I’ve almost always been able to open the app and find all 24-hours of basal, bolus and BG data right there. It’s as if t:connect does not stay connected when the app is not pulled up on my screen. I’m not aware of having either updated my phone’s IOS or updated the app during this time. Does anyone know a fix? I’m pretty sure it’s not a Bluetooth issue because the connection is there most of the time I open the ..read more

Hello community, I am a nurse practitioner working with a low vision individual ,who is interested in making things work despite the challenge with an Omnipod device./G6 CGM. He was experienced with Paradym insulin pump but the pump is needing to be replaced. My question is: is it possible to prefill pods? He is able to magnify to view the screen but injection into the pod to fill is somewhat challenging. any help would be appreciated. Sharon 4 posts - 2 participants Read full topic ..read more

Cequr Simplicity Insulin Patch - Stability of Insulin in Pump
TuDiabetes Forum » Insulin Pumps

I’m trying out this insulin patch which has a 3 day wear time. My question is how long does it take for insulin to degrade when you have a pump. Has anyone kept their pump on longer than the wear time with insulin still being effective? I ask because the patch holds much more insulin than I use in 3 days so I was wondering how long I can go before patch is changed and a new patch is put on with fresh insulin. Thanks. 3 posts - 3 participants Read full topic ..read more
