https://www.pcgamer.com/nexon-fined-nearly-dollar9m-for-falsifying-loot-box-drop-rates/ Apparently Nexon (Maple Story, Elsword, etc.) got caught reducing cash shop gacha drop rates without telling the players, and it got so bad that the government had to step in and fine the company. This is big news since millions of gamers worldwide have potentially either grinded hard as F2P or paid real money under a shady enterprise ..read more

There's probably a half dozen threads about clichés and tropes you hate, or are just tired of seeing everywhere... SO, Let's do the opposite! What are some tropes and clichés you actually enjoy seeing, even if they're super cheesy and/or overused? I will start and say I am a sucker for the Power of Friendship. It's about as cliché as possible, but I can't help but tear up and smile when your party wins because of their bonds with eachother. Because wow... Friendship IS awesome... Read more ..read more

Bad Video Games You've Played From Franchises You Like

Hello everyone. Let's talk about games that are in franchises we like that we've played that we didn't like. One that immediately comes to mind is "Indiana Jones and the Staff Of Kings" for the Nintendo Wii. I in particular did not like that version of the game. With the Wii remote used to punch and run away from things the controls felt very awkward. In addition, the combat felt repetitive, and the game on the Wii didn't feel nearly as interesting or exciting as the PSP version I watched a... Read more ..read more

I am ahuge fan ofthe DQ series. O was very hesitant when it made th jump to 3D in 8. But I really ended up liking 8. I've had 11 for some time now but only played th 2D mode up until recently. And I'm really glad I did. The 2d mode was everything I would have expected from a DQ game. Front view battles, pixel artwork, all of it. However, the 3D version has left me a little meh feeling. Sure the art is pretty, it has voice acting, costumes setting for players, and no random encounters, but... Read more ..read more

Archaic game design that's (thankfully) gone

game design is ever-evolving, changing as quickly as player tastes, technological capabilities, and developer motives. Because of this, there are many once-common design tropes that are either very rare to see or just flat out gone in the modern landscape of video games. In some instances, this is unfortunate, but that's not what I wanna talk about. I wanna know what you don't miss being in games all the time. I have a couple: 1. I'm so glad lives (By extention, continues) aren't... Read more ..read more

I must have played through all 3 games 10s of 1000s of times, it truly is my favorite game series of all time. As I suspect, many spoilers lie beyond this point in the thread, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. I first beat Earthbound on my Nintendo Switch. I also proceeded to play Mother 1 or to some of you Earthbound Beginnings and to another some of you Earthbound Zero. And after some google searches and digging, I came across starmen.net and hacked Mother 3 onto my PSVITA... Read more ..read more

Nintendo has an odd relationship with voice acting

I'm sure I'm far from the first person to notice this, but Nintendo, at least their first-party products, have a really strange relationship with voice acting in their games. Some of it I understand, a lot of the rest of it, I don't. Like, I understand wanting to keep Mario, Luigi, and Link as more or less silent actors, that makes sense. But then, in the Rabbids games, the rabbids have partial Voice acting for cut scenes, and the robots have full voice acting. I know the Pokemon Company... Read more ..read more

Hello everyone. This is just a fellow gamer I really like on YouTube and I just wanted to post this because it's funny. Ok, so-this is NOT a real "My Strange Addiction" documentary. For one thing, they "doctor's checkup" they went to was actually at a pharmacy, and the guy narrating is Stuart Ashen. Also the "doctor" they saw was another comedian and not another doctor. Anyway, thought everyone would think this was funny, so I decided to post it and see how much everyone laughs at it. It's a... Read more ..read more

Hello everyone. I have an admittance to make-you all were right. I was freaking out about nothing with Microsoft buying the rights to Spyro, which they do own now, because the Activision deal went through. Reason why is this....it actually turns out that head of Microsoft Gaming Phil Spencer grew up playing both Crash Bandicoot AND Spyro. He plans to bring back both of those franchises and make more games with them. Wow....I feel really stupid now. Here I was freaking out and going "OH MY... Read more ..read more
