Normally Final Fantasy releases are big and celebrated and some of the youtubers I follow make content on them but... FF16 just kinda... Isn't there? I just checked on a whim to see if it ever actually released and it did. But... I didn't read or hear about it anywhere. Was it just that much of a meh-burger ..read more

The game is good. Spoilers below, read at your own risk. . . . . . There is far more content then I was expecting, even though they said as much. They have almost as much content as the original game. So where am I at. I have defeated Chronus with no fear/heat with every weapon I think. I have all the Arcana maxed I have all the unlocks from the cauldron. I am working on getting all the Aspects maxed, primarly through Bones as 20 fear seems to be difficult for me for the Staff... Diagnosing and fixing gaming PC issues

I have a PC I built in 2020 as a lockdown project. I've not used it much recently as my teen son more or less took it over, but for his birthday he got a brand spanking new PC and all of a sudden, I'm able to use my machine again. I knew it was having some problems because I had to help him fix them, but now I'm using it again, they seem a bit worse than I expected. In general, it's slow and it gets very hot and crashes a lot. I suspect the heart of this is the heat (and damage to other... Read more ..read more

I like Mass Effect, what else should I try?

So, I'm currently playing the ME Legendary edition, after first playing ME2 and ME3 on PS3 a couple years ago. And I find that I really like the way these games are done. The dramatic cutscenes, the many interesting characters with lots of dialogue, the meaningful choices within an overall tightly constrained story, the whole Paragon/Renegade thing, all of that makes them some of the finest RPG video games out there in my book. I enjoy the shooter elements inbetween, but these aren't the... Read more ..read more

So, through various corporate incentive schenanigans, I have gotten a Switch for more or less free. A Switch OLED, even. This is honestly my first 'proper' Nintendo console since I got an N64 as a kid (though I did make it a point to get the SNES classic as soon as I could). And, well, I figured I'd go right for the good stuff, and so the first game I bought was Breath of the Wild, 'cause I keep hearing good things about it. Though I will be honest and will note that the first game I... Read more ..read more

Since Stardock owns the Star Control name, the original creators Fred Ford and Paul Reiche are set to continue the story of Star Control under the new IP name of Free Stars with Free Stars: Children of Infinity being advertised as the direct sequel to Star Control II / Free Stars: The Ur Quan Masters. Link to the Kickstarter here. Initial reception seems to be really great with them blowing through most of their funding goals in record time. I'm still holding out... Read more ..read more

Save 40% on Persona 4 Golden on Steam A coming of age story that sets the protagonist and his friends on a journey kickstarted by a chain of serial murders. store.steampowered.com As stated above, Persona 4: The Golden was ported to PC, and became available for sale on June 13th. Reviews are positive, and the game apparently runs well (barring some frame drop in animated sections). The game also apparently can run on a toaster, which makes sense give how old is it now. I've never played a Persona game, but I've watched a LP of P4G a loooooong time ago along with watching some videos ab ..read more

Getting back into The Old Republic

Apologies in advance, because I'm definitely retreading ground everyone has gone over before, at length. After messing about at max level since the Zakuul content ended, then promptly setting the game aside for a good while, I recently decided to try some of the class stories I never got around to. So, for the first time in years, I'm leveling new characters through the original content. It's changed. It's definitely changed. It's changed, and to be honest, I don't think I like it very...
