From one of our foster families who can only be a temporary home for the overflow of foster kids in our region... What it looks like at 6:40 am for 15 & 8 year old foster kids (brothers) who never had a dad, and whose mom is out (and outta state ). Off to the unknown again this morning, 5th time in 6 days, with all their belongings in a bag. In spite of that, the 15-yr old gives our 10-yr old a little gift. If you are considering answering the call to foster, our city is at crisis-level for open beds and it’s going to get worst with DCF/Eckerd contract ending/extreme under-funding by the ..read more

The Browns’ Adoption Story My husband and I were licensed in April of 2019. Towards the end of the licensing process, our ADOH licensing specialist at the time, Alicia Novell, let us know that there was a family who was closing their home, and she thought the two children currently placed with them would be the perfect fit for our home. Shortly after, Joseph and Nevaeh moved in with us. They were four and two. We didn’t generally attend family visits, as they usually occurred during the workday, but we were aware the kids had four other siblings in the system, and we knew their names and had ..read more

Foster mom C’s recently shared this God story with us. “Today I picked up my oldest ‘E’ from an overnight church camp. A girl kept hugging her goodbye and hugging me over and over. She asked if she could call my daughter and I said, ‘Absolutely.’ As we left, I asked my daughter what her story was (my bells told me there was a story). My daughter said her father was in jail and her mom didn’t love her. She said the girl acted out at first, but E remembered what I’ve told her and didn’t engage, just showed love and grace. Because the last thing she needed was someone else treating her meanly ..read more

Kelly & Todd Brown adopted two siblings on July 15. That's 5 children now! Eli and Daisy's mom tells about their journey. "When God called us to foster care, we knew it would not always be an easy journey. We have seen such hardship, heartache, and brokenness. Said goodbye to children we loved dearly and prayed for unknown paths. The Lord graciously blessed us with the opportunity to adopt our sweet Daisy and Eli and that privilege is not lost on us. They've spent their whole lives with us and we are so lucky they call us Mommy and Daddy forever ..read more

On Friday, July 15, 2022 Godly Daniel (our executive director) had the wonderful privilege of meeting First Lady Casey DeSantis. She was awesome! We love her heart for God and desire to help children in crisis in our community. She’s the real deal (you probably already knew that)! At this meeting Governor & First Lady DeSantis brought together faith-based leaders in Tampa Bay to share about the governor’s Hope Florida initiative to better the lives of children and families in our community. This is a great way for every church in our Tampa Bay community to get involved in serving childr ..read more

The Nagy family just adopted Olive! Here's their story titled, HARD PRESSED BUT NOT BROKEN - OVERFLOWING WITH LOVE "Before we completed our foster training, God continued to speak about the process it takes to make olive oil. Reminding us that each child that comes to our home would be hard pressed but not broken. So of course we decided to decorate the new baby room in olive green. We were shocked when we learned that our first placement was named Olivia and even more shocked when we learned that her birth mom called her Olive. The name Olive soon hung above her crib. As every doctors appo ..read more

A foster mom's story... “The first night we had Andy, he was very scared. The anxiety he experienced was on a whole other level than I had ever seen in a child before. When we tucked him into bed that night, we prayed over him and for him. We did this every night and one night he asked to pray. He started asking to pray in the morning before school and in the evening at bedtime. It wasn’t long before he would say, 'I just love God so much.' One day, I was in the kitchen and I wasn’t feeling well. Andy asked me what was wrong, and I just said I had a headache. He stopped playing and came over ..read more

We don't get to see this as often as we'd like in foster care yet reunifications are something we love to celebrate. These girls have come so far and so has their mama. We could not be more proud to have been a part of their journey. While they were here with one of our foster families they both came to know Jesus and they thrived in school. We are going to miss them so much but we are so hopeful for their future and know God has them in his hands. Please pray for them in this transition ..read more

The Sounding of the Halls

When bio parents are no shows… God is clearly using our foster parents to bring love and hope to some of the hardest places and most difficult situations. As Amanda, one of our foster mom's recounts, (please read to the end to be encouraged) "There is an event that takes place every so often in the foster care world that absolutely crushes me. When a case leads to the Termination of Parental Rights, and the parents don't show up to the court hearing. When this happens the judge requests a 'sounding of the halls.' The bailiff then opens the door to the court room and very loudly calls out into ..read more
