Sun Day. ‘Why don’t they build houses with solar on them? ‘There’s loads of new houses going up where I live and not one panel between them’ How many times have we heard these lines over the years, repeated to us when proposing to clients, comments on our social media posts and even letters in ..read more

You’d think after so long in this game (almost 17 years) that I’d stop getting excited when a new product hits the shelves by now. But no, and with what we’re just about to share with you will get you equally excited about what the future holds. Up until recently, maybe a year or so ..read more

There’s a very good article in one of todays online papers about Allotments. And it got me thinking…………………………………………………… 24 years ago, we had an allotment, in Sydenham, SE London. Several hundred small plots that demonstrated self sufficiency at it’s best. From water harvesting, insulation (those sheds can be cold in January) and lots of innovative ..read more

A few weeks ago, I was asked to contribute to a Sunday Times feature on Solar Panels and how the finances stack up.  As with all financial reports when it mentions solar, journalists always think that they have to give readers a ‘a payback’ year as if it makes sense or can be a good ..read more

Sun Day. Like all overs on these fair Isles, I’ll be glued to the screen this evening as we watch the game. As someone who was born 9 months after West Ham won the World Cup for England, I’m one of those who have waited the longest for our next trophy. But even after all these years and being so close to realising that dream, I still can’t seem to get excited. Other than dipping into the PC and mowing lawns today my mind is elsewhere and not the football. This ‘climate’ thing. It’s getting to be more than just a concern and we need to look at what’s going on just across the channel in Europ ..read more

Commercial rooftop Solar PPA and battery tech

Two weeks ago, I was invited onto a BBC radio station to bang the drum for large scale industrial field based solar farms. Now those of you that know me also know that I’m a firm believer that fields are for food. Sadly, lack of government incentives or innovative policy to incentivise commercial rooftop solar wider adoption has forced us into this situation where fields full of solar are now necessary as we race towards net zero and beyond. The planet is heating up like there is no tomorrow and for some, sadly that will be the reality . So to that end, we have been working furiously in the ba ..read more
