When your kids are struggling in school, IEP and 504 Meetings (or even parent-teacher conferences) can be overwhelming whether it's your first or twentieth. Oxford Language Dictionary defines Confidence as: "the feeling or belief that one can rely on someone or something; firm trust" "the state of feeling certain about the truth of something" "a feeling of self-assurance arising from one's appreciation of one's own abilities or qualities." When I think of our family's journey with dyslexia...I can't say this is usually the word that comes to mind. I love preparing Easter baskets every year for my kids. When they were younger, I would fill their baskets with books in the same tradition as my mom always did with my Easter baskets as a kid.  I remember going to the bookstore to find the classics that I read as a kid as well as new to me titles to fill their baskets and their springs. For many years, the books would include great read-aloud-together titles. Today is 2/2/22, which is fun to write?? ..and World Read Aloud Day!? At Dyslexia Together Box we are all about a great story and acknowledging that ‘great stories’ can be experienced and shared using multiple senses, activities, and approaches.
