Hey guys! I’ve recently started getting this issue in my 2004 manual 4x4 Ford Ranger (4.0L V6) with 110k km, when I start it in the morning and then chuck it into neutral I get this single loud clunk followed by a slight grinding for like 2-3 seconds that seems to be coming from under my shifter. After that it goes away and doesn’t come back, no issues while driving or shifting, only right after startup and only one solid clunk. Any ideas on what it could be ..read more

I want to add the Ford trailer hitch receiver to my 1998 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0L extended cab truck, but am not getting consistent information on fitment. In looking online, I am finding XL5Z-17D826-AB as the current part number (previously XL5Z-17D826-AA and 6L5Z-17D826-AA). However, when I go to my local Ford dealer they say that those part numbers are correct but only for 1999 and newer. In fact, they don’t show that a trailer hitch receiver is even an option for my VIN. This seems unlikely... 1998 Ford Ranger Trailer Hitch Receiver ..read more

So I have a 1993 ranger 2.3L 5 speed manual. We had to replace the starter about 18 months ago. Last summer the ignition switch went out so we rigged a push button start that bypassed the key to the solenoid on the side of the body. We also replaced the that starter solenoid. now it won’t start. When I turn the key to the “on” position and push the switch, I get a clicking sound from the starter solenoid. But it won’t turn over. I have bridged the solenoid with a screwdriver and it... 1993 won’t start, solenoid clicking ..read more

OEM parts fluids Etc can anybody tell me if this is a reasonable charge. I assume beside the filter there might be a gasket on the transmission pan. 140,000 miles on the vehicle. I assume its drain, change filter, replace gasket. Fill thru dipstick ?? Right ..read more
