Hi all,
I'm about to pull the trigger on an EV6 through a novated lease with my employer.
I'm interested to see if anyone can help with a question I have around the FTB exemption, I understand it's available on EVs un $89k that don't have LCT but I'm unsure how that works for a used EV.
I can get a 2024 EV6 GT-Line AWD for $88k which I know is fine but there are 2023 GT models with less than 2,000ks on them for around $86-$88k.
On the ATO website it lists this under eligibility.
"luxury car tax (LCT) has never been payable on the importation or sale of the car."
Does this mean because the GT ..read more

These things: https://www.alchemycharge.com.au/ Wouldn't they be better off with 30 amp sockets? But then I guess some apartments have shitty wiring and couldn't handle it.

Hey all, thought you might like our new site www.thebeep.com.au as a way of searching through new car EV pricing in Australia. It's a great way to see the price history of EVs since launch.

it's not clear why this is, there doesn't appear to be a post about it and it's severely limiting in building a community around it

We bought a PHEV and I want to get a charger installed. I've contacted a bunch of companies and each have asked for photos of the fuse box and details of the distance to the charger then promptly ghosted me. It all feels a bit dodgy. I'm assuming that we need a new circuit and that probably means new fuse box etc and they don't want to do this work. Anyone had similar experience? Any tips or recommendations?

With VIC scrapping its EV incentive, it got my thinking, is it possible to buy a car in another state and then just pay the stamp duty to register it in VIC.
Or do the incentives only apply to residents (I am sure this is true, but thought i would ask)?

We're very excited about our new electric car.
Is there anything in particular I need to do before it arrives?
Would you recommend paying extra for the plug for fast charging?
Is it ok to leave the car in the driveway? We recently converted our garage into a home office.
Tangibly related: does everyone have solar and should we get it if we plan on moving house in the next 2ish years?
Cheers!
