Hey, been a long time since in this section.
Doing a ems stinger install into my mates ae82? liftback that's had a silvertop 20v put in it at some stage of it's life. It was running like a bag of snot and turned out the oem ecu has a bunch of leaking capacitors and shite on the board.
So we decided to stick a spare ems 4424 v4 stinger on it, same as both my aw11's run.
It's been a while since I did a ecu install and as many know if you're not doing it all the time you get rusty.
The 20v distributor has me a little stumped, I can't find any definite information on how to wire it up to the e ..read more

Its been a long time since I have posted here.
I'm calling out to all the tuners out there.
My question is when is the best time to start / turn on and inject fuel?
I'm well aware that fuel needs to be injected into an open intake valve on the intake stroke (yes, the intake can only be open on the intake stroke) however I would like some real opinions and feedback from those in the know on:-
1) How far after the intake valves open (in degrees) should the injectors start delivering fuel?
2) If there is a range of degrees that should be used so as not to run out of time. (my guess / experience ..read more

If you have an XV10 (or other Toyota of the era) with a factory immobiliser, here’s a run through of replacing the soldered battery in the “sealed” immobiliser/keyless entry fob. My local Toyota dealership gave me a handful of faulty NOS units, to see if I could find a use for them. The plastic cases were useful to me, to re-shell one of my battered remotes from 1997.
Warning: Ensure that you are familiar with your programming procedure before doing this job, and make sure you have a spare working remote in case the worst happens!
First of all, order yourself some of these batteries, as many ..read more

G'day from Australia.
My key no longer matches my ECU.
I'm short on cash and long on time.
I have an eeprom programmer so at the moment I plan to remove the chip from the new ECU and burn an IMMO OFF file.
I've found an IMMO OFF file database, I'm wondering if a data base exists showing key number location in the files for different ECUs.
That way I could use my old key.
Also have a couple of other cars I could use spare keys for and can't afford the $450 a pop the local locksmiths charge.
Thanks to anyone that can point me in the right direction ..read more

Hi everyone,
I have a 2002 Hilux with a 3RZ-FE here in Australia.
OBD2 didnt start here till 2006.
Having OBD1 diagnostics is becoming a bit of an issue these days.
I'm thinking if I can get a US ECU around the same vintage I can wire that up and have OBD2 diagnostics.
This is my work vehicle and I'm not interested in spending heaps on aftermarket ECU.
Can anyone tell me what vehicles in the US had a 3RZ-FE around 2002 or earlier?
My Hilux has no electronics apart from ECU, not even a transponder key.
Just need a starting point for research, I'm not familiar with your model names etc.

Have tried to search for this but can't find anything through that avenue. I am led to believe that the gear stick in the later T50 gearboxes are positioned further back on the gearbox compared to the first generation in the early Celica's. What mods are required to fit a later gen T50 ..read more
