DreamKreator Studio’s Rhonda Love is hosting an exhibit in conjunction with Mental Health America of Los Angeles (MHALA) through a Creative Corps program grant from the Arts Council for Long Beach. Between 45 and 60 people visit MHALA’s Homeless Service Center in Lancaster each day to get connected to various services and supplies. Supportive Services Provided at Two New Housing Locations

Mental Health America of Los Angeles (MHALA) provides integrative services at housing locations throughout Los Angeles County. In April, MHALA expanded its reach to two more locations: Wellspring in Long Beach and Juniper Grove Apartments in Palmdale.  Wellspring is an 88-unit affordable housing development in Long Beach’s Cambodia Town that includes 20 permanent supportive housing units. As a result of the work Mental Health America of Los Angeles (MHALA) does within the Hispanic/Latino community, MHALA’s North County Chief Service Officer Luis Montes was asked to serve on the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority’s newly formed Latinx People Experiencing Homelessness Taskforce. MHALA recently received a $74,797 community health grant from CommonSpirit Health to continue its HealthLink program at St. Mary Medical Center, Long Beach, through the end of 2024.
