Clip color can be set on media or on a timeline clip. And smart bins as the name indicates filter by media properties. Try this: In a new project, add a clip to the media pool, set it to Yellow. Create a timeline, drag the clip into three different tracks. Change one to orange, the other to teal. For the third, set the track color to pink. Now try adding a fourth instance. What color is it? Try moving clips into and out of the pink track. What colors do they assume? Create a smart bin, and filter the edit index by clip color. Observe the results shown in each. Having played the clip loud I can hear no hum. What I can hear is location atmos on the guy's audio which abruptly ceases on the cut to the girl. You could either add atmos to the girl's track to match, or if you are using Studio try Voice Isolation on the guy's track. In Resolve Studio 19 you also have the option of the Dialogue Separator. I just tested this and it works fine for me. Maybe post a screen shot of your Smart Bin settings. There may be a setting wrong. Statistics: Posted by Peter Cave — Sat May 18, 2024 6:00 am ..read more

DaVinci Resolve • 4:3 aspect ratio not respected in rendered files

I'm creating a short title sequence for a 4:3 project, 720 x 486 NTSC. All the project settings, clip attributes, and render settings in Deliver are for 4:3 720 x 486 NTSC. Everything is a perfect 4:3 in the Edit, Color, and Deliver viewers, but looks too narrow and tall in Fusion. A previous user commented that this was a known bug that didn't matter in my case because it is only a preview window and I was only adding film grain and slight gate weave effects. Fine. Everything worked to that point. But even though the image is a perfect 4:3 in the Deliver viewer, the aspect ratio of the render ..read more

DaVinci Resolve • Missing whole timeline Davinci 18.6

Hello to all! I am using Davinci Studio 18.6 and recently this happened twice for 2 days. I prepared a timeline with clips of audio and video ex. and after a few hours of work, I saved the project, even during the work I saved it around 10 times just in case. The files were never moved or changed location. This morning when I opened Davinci my timeline was totally empty. It is super frustrating. Any help will be highly appreciated! Regarding noise reduction: BRAW has some (really mild), the Sonys have some more (defeatable for stills, but not for video), and the iPhone has a lot. Not defeatable, even in log. Slightly more info .. I was able to import the clip into Microsoft Clipchamp and export another MP4 from there.. that one looks fine too. the bummer is that the file sizes are super different .. would rather use the higher-quality one in my Resolve project! Original clip: 636MB (or I'd attach it here) Exported from Clipchamp app: 55MB But what's REALLY interesting is when I rename this exported clip to the original clip name and ask Resove to render... it gives the same error. Is it possible that some error was handled *and exported* by Clipchamp? Seems unlikely to me. Out of my depth here ..read more
