Hi Gurus, I have an MSI Titan GT77 13VI. I cannot seem to change the brightness on the screen unless HDR is on. Not sure why or what is going on here? Has been like this since day 1. I uninstalled MSI True Color thinking that was the culprit, but no. Any suggestions here? All drivers are freshly installed and up to date ..read more

My sister needs a new laptop, she is still rocking a 2015 model with Intel Core I7 Gen 5 CPU, 8GB RAM, and a 1TB HDD. It has seen better days and she has given me a budget no higher than £1000, preferably under (around the $800 mark) I have been looking at Ryzen 5000H (8/16) series laptops, 16GB RAM, 1TB NVME. She will be using it for photo editing and general office work. She wants something that is going to last her. Was looking at something like this.... Recommend New Laptop under £1000 ..read more

Hello, recently I got gIgabyte Aorus 5 SE4 with 115-130w 3070. I wanted to try out new VBIOS for my card so I went with MSI 125-140w. Everything worked so far and i got a bit of a boost, however, I am a bit confused because disabling intelhd giving me like 6-7% increase in benchmarks. I was assuming prior to this that mux is an actual modification on the motherboard. I am using HDMI, What is giving me this boost? I feel stupid asking this but I am toping 11900 timespy gpu score and could... Could someone explain please ..read more

Hello, I saw LG was starting to include OLEDs in the laptop line and I see other brands were starting to include 18" laptop screens. Were there any 18" OLED laptops this year? I'm holding out until next year for my next laptop in hopes they release an 18" OLED LG Gram ..read more

I'm looking for a new laptop but I'm torn between two of them and the only difference is the resolution. Is 1440p noticeable with a 17" monitor? Or will it just be an unessesary performance hit? Thanks ..read more

Hello gurus! This notebook was sent to me by my soon to be brother in law. Symptoms are terrible overheating, thermal throttling and freezes. Initially, he took it apart to see where the problem lays and what could be done. He took a picture. As seen, the TIM is pumped out and the thermal pads are practically melted. Well, he thought to replace the TIM with liquid metal and add fresh TIM where it could. Turned out a bad idea, the notebook didn't start after that. Now, the notebook was... My Asus Vivobook S14 K3402 laptop consumes an 80% charged battery in about 1.5 weeks when powered off. Its only used for displaying art work and can be off for a few weeks by which time the battery is most certainly flat. I'm worried for the batteries life as its not good for a Lithium battery to go flat and is especially bad to leave it flat for a long time. And this is pretty inconvenient. The battery app shows it losing significant % of power every day and when it goes flat even the clock... Help please with battery going flat when powered off ..read more

Why 3:2 laptops are not the standard?

First,I am aware that this question will raise some eyebrows. To vast majority, the 16:9 laptop is the norm. Nothing is wrong with that. Or is it? Second, to some this can be easily seen as a first world problem, and to a extent, it is. But I digress. OK, the 16:9 ratio. I am constantly annoyed to scroll just a bit more, to read a page who could not fit in the screen whole, so has to be scrolled to be read. Excel tables, large PDFs, or code just doesn't fit. The whole 16:9 ratio for work... Why 3:2 laptops are not the standard ..read more
