Weekend #1 of the 2023 Daniel Boe Memorial tournament provided a lot of fun for the participants to go along with the cool temperatures and testy wind. Tournament Director Mark Verrochi and his crew put on an efficient event, juggling three pools totaling 216 players around the modified Kit Carson Park layout. Oh, and you gotta try the food truck – the birria quesadilla is bomb! MA1 proved to be the real cliffhanger of the weekend, as three players were tied for 1st place at 10-under par after the end of round 3. The San Diego Aces Disc Golf Club held our 2023 year-opening bag tag matches on March 18th and 19th at Brengle Terrace Park (even-numbered tags) and Morley Field (odd-numbered tags). Results are listed below, with scores and bag tag numbers listed for each player who participated. Tags were distributed at the end of each day, once all scores had been submitted. Some players chose to leave early and not return for the final tag distribution. Those players with at “THT” in the “Tag” column took a high tag number, so all players who participated received some number tag. Congratulations to James ..read more

Here are the results from the weekend’s bag tag challenges at Morley Field and Kit Carson Park. Apologies for the crummy formatting – Facebook doesn’t play nice with tables.Folks at the bottom of the list with “?”…they either: 1) Didn’t show up to play, 2) Didn’t turn in a score or 3) Were given a high tag because they didn’t want to wait and we were so busy that we missed writing down the tag number. There are probably reasons #4 and #5, but I don’t know what they are. If you haven’t picked up your tag, we will haul them around to events being held locally – Mast Park Ice Bowl on Saturday (1 ..read more

Guess what? We’re getting new bag tags for 2022! Little Flyer, the company that has been supplying bag tags for the Aces since 2009 has ceased operation. Long story that we’ll share another time. Unfortunately, it took a few weeks to get that answer from them and here we are. The good news is that we have a new supplier and we’re going to have some great tags for 2022! We’re keeping the tradition of a distinctive 1 through 10 tag – these will be wooden, rectangular and will be black. Tags 11 through infinity will be round metal tags – they’ll look a lot like the mini disc tags we’ve been using ..read more
