In this tutorial, I will show How to embroider an apron. It’s almost summer and with that comes BBQ time! My husband loves to grill on our back patio, however, he tends to make a mess, especially when he is cleaning the grill . For Father’s Day, I thought making him a black apron would help with that and I will also show you how to embroider an apron. I was looking for BBQ design ideas to put on the apron and ran across this “GrillFather” design that I loved! My step-dad is a big fan of The Godfather, so I think he will love this too . This is a great beginner project and can be done on any ma ..read more

As fall is approaching, personalized embroidered sweatshirts and sweaters will become more and more popular. Recently, a picture of an embroidered sweatshirt caught my eye on Facebook. The sweatshirt contained a perfectly cut felt name with hand stitching on top. I immediately thought of ways we can have this same look but using our embroidery and cutting machines. I reached out to my friend Lyndsie at Lynnie Pinnie and asked if she had any pretty script fonts that looked like hand stitched embroidery. Not only did she have exactly what I wanted, but she also had a new applique font ..read more

This week’s Sip & Stitch tutorial is about hat machine embroidery. We will be going over how to embroider a hat using a multi-needle or free-arm machine and a cap driver. Hats are really fun to make with your embroidery machine, however, the cap driver can be very intimidating to try for the first time. I will show you step by step how easy it is to remove your frame holder, attach the cap driver, hoop the hat using the cap ring and hooping station, and then finally load and stitch your hat. Once you see how easy it is, you will be making hats all the time. If you ever decide to start sell ..read more

Embroidered sweatshirts make an excellent present for the holiday season! Curved neckline embroidery has been popular for a while, however I have seen a surge in embroidered sleeves to go with it. I love this trend and there are so many fun personalized projects that we can make with this. Now this project would be easiest on a free arm machine like my PRX1, or multi-needle like my PR680W or Ricoma EM101. But I want to show you its possible on a flatbed machine too so I will be using my PE800 in this tutorial. I will be going over 2 different hooping methods for t ..read more

This week for Sip & Stitch we are diving into the world of embroidered logos on polo shirts. If you are a small business with a free arm or multi needle machine, this may be one of the most requested items that you will get. This can also be one of the hardest items to get placement just right. That is where Mighty Hoops and the Hoopmaster Hooping stationcome in to make your life so much easier. I have been looking at the system for years and finally took the plunge and got it after seeing it in person at the Impressions Expo in Long Beach California this past January. It couldn’t hav ..read more

This is a very simple in the hoop project that can be personalized and stitches out really quick! This project is available in 5×7, 6×10, and 8×12 sizes. I will be showing you how to make this on my Brother Stellaire 2 but you can make this bunny treat bag on any machine that has a 5×7 hoop or larger. For our first Sip & Stitch project for the new year, we will be getting ready for Valentine’s Day by making an in the hoop mini hanging quilt. Mini hanging quilts make great home decor projects that can be displayed on any table or shelf. The design I chose is from my friend Dawn at Creative Appliques. It is available in 3 different hoop sizes. Be sure to purchase the design in the hoop size you plan to make. I will be making the 6×10 mini quilt on my Brother NQ1700e embroidery machine.
