Today I’m working in my claddagh ring workshop. Polishing is the final process of making these beautiful historic Irish rings.
This part of the jewelry craft requires a buffing motor. This spinning motor with its soft felt brushes are used to polish the fine gold and silver Claddagh rings to their perfect shine.
There are different brushes used and different polishing compounds applied to the gold and silver. The final a brightest of these processes are referred to as the rouge.

This weekend I visited The Great Saltee Island, located off of Kilmore Quay, is an amazing place to view wild birds nesting. Puffin bird visits this Island through April, May and June.
The Island is a beautiful natural place with rugged coast line and is just alive with the sounds of bird calls and the calming sound of the water washing against the rocks.
Visits take place via a 20 minute Ferry from Kilmore Quay. The Ferry only takes 12 people at a time so its very relaxed and you will surely get chatting to other passengers and the crew as very friendly also. I spent a bit of t ..read more

I have been very busy in the workshop over the last few weeks. August is generally a quiet time in the claddagh jewelry workshop. Sales can be slow to arrive in. Many people are on holidays and some are preparing for their children to go back to school as the summer nears its end. Therefore its a great month to make up new claddagh ring designs.
I have launched 10 new claddagh ring design. My particular focus has to been to create the most beautiful claddagh aesthetic shape. I wanted to capture beautiful flowing curves in the design and I have managed to achieve this.

Ireland, the Emerald Isle, isn’t the most obvious choice for a honeymoon. The land of Guinness, U2, and St. Patrick has a reputation for rain (it’s why the island is so green, after all) and lacks the tropical beaches many honeymooners seek. But for those more interested in culture, history, light adventure, and beautiful, pastoral scenery, it’s a great place for a romantic trip to start your life together.
Here are just a few reasons to consider an Ireland honeymoon destination.

What the Bride Wears
For brides with Irish heritage, there are lovely ways to make their dresses uniquely special. Some choose to have their dresses custom-made, while others enhance a ready-made dress with Celtic symbols like knots, crosses, or shamrocks in beautiful white embroidery. Another elegant touch is the addition of Irish lace. You may also spot an Irish lace headpiece or a veil adorned with Irish lace accents. In cooler weather, a classic bridal cloak made of wool or a combination of lightweight wool and Irish linen can be a charming option.
