Hi Everyone, My Request: When ESXi host changes status, VMAN should read whole alert message from vCenter (or maybe some additional parameters), and at least represent it by appropriate state description (like 'Alert forwarded from vCenter', or full message from vCenter). The state of ESXi host - caused by alert read from vCenter - should be distinct from "normal' states, to enable specific alerts for this kind of situations. Changing ESXi node state - should be noted in event log, with description of the cause. It would be also useful to make up special property for ESXi nodes, like 'vCenter ..read more

adam.beedell adam.beedell is exactly correct on this. We have to go through that for Datastores and WPM/Transaction monitors. We use a prefix on our property names, so that we can quickly filter utilizing the search box. We are also pretty heavy on using custom properties for our alerts, so there is a fair amount of name overlap as well (Like Email Address and Responsible Team). So it allows us to stay consistent ..read more

Is there a way to put VMs into maintenance mode or mute alerts for them? I know if there is an agent on them, or they are monitored with an agent as well, we can mute the alerts for the node that way. I'm asking specifically for VMs in VMAN ..read more

Without knowing anything about your environment it's hard to say anything, other than usually its a issue of what's being counted mismatching with expectations. Not sure what's being counted, not sure what's being expected, but usually that Possibles: MB vs MiB People expecting a filter that's not present Counting more than one thing when you're expecting 1 thing to be counted Might help to post some screenshots or queries or something ..read more

No, the value that's shown in the UI corresponds to the value that's being stored in the database under the related column in the appropriate Datastores table. That value in the database doesn't seem to correspond to anything that can be found in our environment ..read more

Develop a feature in SolarWinds that automatically creates dependencies based on Host-VM relationships, thereby making VMs unreachable when the host is down. This will improve the accuracy of alerts and reduce false positives. Automatic Dependency Mapping: VMAN already knows the relationships between hosts and their respective virtual machines (VMs). When a host goes down, the system will automatically mark all its dependent VMs as unreachable. This will prevent the system from sending false alerts about the VMs being down when it's actually the host that's down ..read more
