Horizon Power to run EV vehicle-to-grid trial

The trial will test the potential for electric vehicles (EVs) to draw power from the grid and feed it back into the network. Horizon Power is conducting the trial at Exmouth – Western Australia’s first trial of vehicle-to-grid (V2G) capability – to test the capability of its management system to allow EVs to act as mobile energy storage solutions. Fed Gov announces largest single tender for renewable energy

The national Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS) tender will target 6GW of new variable renewable energy projects for the National Electricity Market (NEM).  The first auction as part of the government’s Reliable Renewables Plan is set for late May.  The Federal Government has also signed a new deal with the New South Wales State Government to deliver renewable energy with at least 2.2GW of renewable energy specifically for New South Wales, enough to power more than one million households. Qld Gov commences construction of Aldoga reservoirs

The two reservoirs are expected to hold up to 100ML of water and form a key part of the $983 million Fitzroy to Gladstone Pipeline. Located at the southern section of the pipeline, the reservoirs are designed to feed Gladstone Area Water Board’s (GAWB) existing water network. The 117km pipeline is set to run from the Fitzroy River near Rockhampton and connect to Gladstone Area Water Board’s existing water network at Yarwun. Gippsland Water completes Drouin WWTP floating solar project

The 350kw array features 644 individual solar panels and floats on one of the treatment lagoons at the Drouin wastewater treatment plant.  Gippsland Water said it is the largest floating solar array in Australia.
