A great kit with very nice stone detail. All let down by a very poor roof which lacks 'Umph' and the ridge and eaves stonework are all way out of scale and too big.
An easy fix, but one that could have been avoided by Dapol.
The Lichgate is scratch built as is the rest of the base. The trees are from my garden.
The kit supplies some clear plastic for the windows. I stuck some diagonal mesh on these and dabbed some different colour paints to this to give a leaded glass look.

Afternoon Good People,
As the title states, I went crazy in the past weeks and finished this too. If you read the latter pages in my thread here, I had to modify/paint figs and finish carts, as well as a base. Painting figs is my weakest point in life. I can do scratchy all day long, but the figs scare me to death (that's what they look like when I'm done with them). A picture frame and a grass mat finished it off. I also took this to the show, so here are some pics of the final...

I've finally finished the damn thing!
It's been a real slog at times , with ups and downs but enjoyable none-the-less. Considering it started out as a single figure, then two and then four, and I had no real idea what I wanted the finished thing to look like , so I have to say I am rather pleased.
I WISH I hadn't c*cked up at the last minute with the matt lacquer and the dust, but it's less visible to the naked(66 year-old) eye than it is to the merciless camera, so once this bit is over I...

This is the excellent Me109 Airfix 'Starter kit'.
I'm not interested in the accuracy of kits. I just build what's in the box and enjoy myself. The paint job is not of a particular aircraft. To add a bit of colour, I just fancied giving it a yellow nose and rudder.
Brush painted
I used the supplied paints and glue.
The base is a lump of polystyrene sprinkled with red sand and rubble.
The 'water' is a clear plastic lid from a food container.
The tidal surge is clear silicone flicked about...

The Beast crested a rise from his blasted valley and came face to face with two warriors. Why did they not flee? No screaming, no running - not even a glimmer of fear! Who should he devour first?
In the darkest recesses of his tiny brain a strange emotion flickered. Fear - not theirs, but his!
He had to choose - his choice was not which of these two strange creatures to attack first, but whether he should attack them at all! The Choice...

Just finished, didn't use their method of wrapping tape around the wires joins, used a terminal block instead. Not bad build, instructions great at the start , a bit vague towards the end. Would recommend for something different.
Be prepared for some sanding of tabs as the openings are tight. All in all a fun build. The touch switch is great.

'Elderly Statesmen' on here might just remember my diorama of the 1/48 Revell Swift Boat (PCF) and the fact that I couldn't get any 1/48 Vietnam era U.S soldiers to go with it.
Well I never did, but moons ago I found some 1/48 WW2 figures that I decided to use in order that I could finally draw a line on the build and confine it for good in the loft.
I've been working on and off with the figures for ages and now I've finished and added them to the already completed scene from way back...
