Hi folks I have a hp pavilion with a non functional screen. I was suing the HDMI port and a rc mouse to make it work on a smart tv. Now the HDMI port is blown. Is there any way that I can use one of the USB/A sockets to make this work.Idid have photos and music backed up on a thumb drive but needless to say i can't find it. My thread title pretty much spells out my problem The details: Toshiba Satellite C855 laptop Windows 8.2 Computer died Kept a ton of information on the desktop Bought a new computer w/windows 11 Took out the old hard drive from dead laptop Using an interface cable, am able to access all the data stored on the hard drive - EXCEPT the informtion on the desktop and side files Are they accessible some how? Hello all! Well, I screwed up. My old HP Pavilion was giving me trouble, running slow no matter what I did, so I decided to reinstall the system to see if it helped any. I wanted to just reinstall the system and not mess with my files, but there were two buttons, one for system install and one for format, (dont remember exactly what the buttons said) I accidentally hit format. Hi everyone, I'm a bit stumped, I've been using my 2015 Asus laptop x551c without issues for years, only very infrequently, it's probably only been used for 50 hours each year on average, so still looks brand new! It's had a lot of updates recently, and I've noticed my email client that always worked great (thunderbird) suddenly as of a few weeks ago crashes non stop and takes an eternity to open.
