Is there an issue with Xicoy X-132 for 3D?

I was looking at getting the X-132 to put in a SAB Lizard. Everything I read about it says it the best possible choice. Smaller, lighter, faster spool up, lower fuel burn, lower price, reputable brand. I was just about ready to pull the trigger to order one, and was reading the Users Manual and got scared. On page 39 of the manual it states... Quote: We don’t recommend using our engines in 3D planes doing fast acrobatics. The gyroscopic forces that a turbine rotor turning at very high RPM´s apply to the bearings doing a loop in less than 1s are extremely high and can destroy the bearings o ..read more

RC Jet Engine Start Up Help

I am new to everything RC, Jet Engine, and Forum-related things. That said, I am building an RC-sized turbine jet engine utilizing parts and kits I found online. However, I have no clue what I should do for the ECU/GSU system and where I should even start for the fuel system. The turbine uses kerosene fuel and propane/butane as its starter gas. It is graded for an output of 14 lbs of thrust at 7 oz/min (this is a rough estimate). My biggest questions currently are: - Do I need an ECU for my fuel pump - What are the minimum components necessary for the Jet to be operationable on a test stand ..read more

Hello, i am searching for some idea for 2 RX, 1 ECU and smoke pump battery trays that will be located in my TJ F-16 nose. The idea is to be able to remove them without a hassle and still have them secured. Of course the best thing would have been if the nose was removable but this is not what I am looking for. Thanks in advance for your ideas ..read more

Back in November I started talking to and Ordered a BVM Bandit. The first one that arrived had shipping damage. BVM replaced it right away. They also went out of their way to make shipping the damaged one back a piece of cake. I met several BVM folks at the Tucson Jet rally a couple months later. They were awesome to talk to and buy goodies from. Recently had a small mishap with my Bandit and they have been super on getting me the right parts and other goodies I wanted. Yes, BVM planes do tend to cost a little more.. and they deserve it. The customer service is by far much better than any I ..read more
