It was a dry day with light winds and felt very warm when in the sun. The snowpack is consolidating in all locations, and thawing quite quickly where it gets much sun. Isolated instabilities persist in deeper accumulations of recent snow.
I went up Mullach na Rathain today, pictures below.

The cloud base was lower than the snowline this morning and Torridon looked snow free from the roadside. By early afternoon the cloud had lifted but most of the higher summits remained in the cloud.
Some thawing of the snowpack at lower elevations and some consolidation higher up but windslab remains a hazard, mainly above 900 metres.

A couple of runners in Coire an Laoigh made the sensible decision to head back down when the snow got deeper and visibility dropped.

Overnight snow fell above around 850 metres with the snowline dropping slightly during the day. Gale force winds and blizzard conditions on the summits made it a challenging day.
Not a good day for photos but a few from my trip up Creag Dhubh, Beinn Eighe below.
Low cloud spoiling the view today. This looking up the Allt a’ Chuirn. On a clear day there’s a good view of the East end of Beinn Eighe from here.

Overnight snow turned the mountains white above around 750 metres. It was then a mainly dry day with a bit of sunshine which was melting the snow on Southerly aspects quite quickly.
More substantial snowfall is forecast for tonight and tomorrow which combined with strong winds will result in areas of unstable windslab developing. See https://www.sais.gov.uk/torridon/ for more details.

Quite a change today, it has been showery and wet with sleet falling at higher levels. Earlier this morning it seemed quite bright in the glen between the showers but by lunch time it was foggy and grey, winds were strong and it felt a bit unpleasant up the hill.
Approaching Creag Dhubh, Beinn Eighe this morning it felt quite pleasant between the showers.

Today was a stunning day in Torridon. Blues skies and light winds showed some of the Torridon mountains at their best, apart from a bit of snow you couldn’t have asked for more. Todays observation point was Beinn an Eoin a Corbett accessed from near Loch Maree. The pictures show the views in all directions from on or near the summit.

Today was wet in the morning but cleared to give a drier afternoon. It was a colder day with moderate North-Westerly winds and the freezing level around the summits. Showers did turn to snow occasionally but it all melted instantly so there is no fresh snow to see. The hills are in summer condition with only a few patches of snow left. Today walking uphill in showers and poor visibility paid off as the rain stopped and the clouds lifted around midday as I reached the summits. It was good to see plenty people out enjoying the Torridon mountains.
