Walking up the Allt a’ Mhuilinn path to Coire Leis was damp and windy; the SE wind increasing down the coire. The freezing level was above the summit of Aonach Mor (1200m) for most of the morning, dropping late morning to be around 0C. The photos below should give a good indication of the paucity of snow on Ben Nevis at the moment.

It was another dry day with strong South-South-Easterly winds. There was high cloud and it was a bit hazy.
The snowpack remains well bonded and stable. After an overnight freeze at higher elevations the freezing level rose above the summits during the day and the snowpack was softening and slowly thawing.

Today was a clear sunny day to end the forecasting season. Pictures show current snow cover and cornices on Ben Nevis. The snowpack is currently thawing and consolidating and the weather is forecast to be stable for the next few days. Forecasting resumes for next winter in mid December with a standby service if required before that.

During the morning on Aonach Mor the cloud base was around 700m, lifting from around midday. As a result photo opportunities were somewhat limited.

Today was a dry cloudy day with light winds and some showers which fell as snow above around 900 metres. There were breaks in the cloud and occasional sunshine which gave some good views of Ben Nevis showing current snow cover and some recent avalanche activity.

The morning showers seemed quite intense when you were in them, but in between the showers it was quite a nice day!. Fresh accumulations were pretty limited in depth and was gradually thawing in the sun.
It should look quite different tomorrow as we have potentially 20-30 cms of snow forecast plus a good strong wind!
