We all know how well peanut butter pairs with something sweet. This recipe produces a soda bread with this pairing. It could be the perfect base for your peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The British members will know what soda bread is but for others it is bread leavened with baking soda or baking powder instead of yeast.
Ingredients
1 cup peanut butter
2 eggs
1 tbsp baking powder
1 cup milk
1 cup honey
1 pinch salt
1 1/4" cups all purpose flour

I've adapted this recipe from the Hairy Bikers. They didn't add ginger, dates, apricots and almonds. They also didn't add cream cheese frosting. I did, and it was lovely.
Ingredients for cake:
250 g grated carrots
100 g mixed dried dates & apricots, chopped finely
200 g self raising flour
100 g soft brown sugar
100 ml sunflower oil
4 eggs
25 g shaved almonds
1 orange, zested and juiced ( keeping both)
1 tsp of fresh grated ginger
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp of pumpkin...

I'm going to get a starter going again soon while I'm off work for a few weeks. I used to make all of our bread but work and time got in the way so I knocked it on the head. Not made any bread for about 6 years now. I love sourdough (toasted, Bacon, mushrooms n cheese) and can't find the recipe I used to use. What's your favourite way of making sourdough ..read more

This recipe makes one double crust or two single crusts, and it's based on this excellent recipe:
Easy Pie Crust Recipe (VIDEO)
I tried blending the ingredients using a stand mixer with dough hooks, but that's the wrong approach here. You really do need the blades of a food processor to turn the butter into granules so it combines properly.
Ingredients
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt or sea salt
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
1/2 lb cold...

So what's the difference between parkin and Yorkshire parkin? The answer appears to be the use of oatmeal.
So... this recipe is from my handwritten recipe book and I have no idea on the source. I know the quantities are huge, so I've cut them down into more sensible sized slabs according to the eggs... dividing 3 eggs per 1kg of oatmeal and flour does leave some of the ingredients with odd measurements, but that's why.
I made the 3 egg version by the way!
This batter also...
