My 1999 e320 150k single owner just stopped would not start during my errand trip. Local mechanic said to replace starter, it didn't solve the problem , he said he can't figure out a problem. Then a Benz former mechanic looked at it n said it's k40 relay . We replaced it, didn't work , then he ask me to order new key, didn't work, car turns to 2 all lights are on it does a 2 sec attempt to start but that's about it, replaced new battery it's been 3 months . Recently my E250 CGI, 2010 got struck due to transmission issues, gearbox was almost damaged due to coolant mixed with transmission fluid. Now I am planning to change it with used one, 72261807856667 this is my transmission number, I think this is 5 speed gearbox. - what are things I need to check before buying a used gearbox ? - is there any compatibility problem if I buy gearbox from same model car ? how can I resolve these compatibility issues ? - will it require coding after replacing the gearbox ? please forgive my flaws, I don't have much mechanical idea about MB ..read more

Last week I faced a problem with my Mercedes E 250, 2010 model, it was not starting after parking in a shopping mall. Then I started the car after jumping with another Car, mechanic told me my battery is almost dead, so I changed my battery. I need the defroster vent at the top of the dash for the passenger side of my 2012 E550 Cabriolet. This is the small rectangular vent above the AC vent, facing upwards, for the defroster. It is not available as its own part...but is available as part of a complete dashboard which I don't need. I can't 3D print it as there is no online model for it. I can't buy it from a parts house as they do not sell it that way. That leaves a wrecking yard. Do you know of any here in the US that might specialize in Mercedes?
