I was going to buy live eels online to live line. But they only have the 13-17 inch live eels. Would I be able to live line them and catch the same amount of fish if I used 9-12 inch live eels?

I've been fishing for 7 months without a single bite I really thought I knew what I was doing but it seems like I dont. If any fisherman are willing to share all their the secrets in terms of things like where to cast leader lengths and things like that, it would be greatly appreciated also, all these tips would be for fishing from the shore or from piers

Just moved to Quincy and a 5 min walk from sailors snug harbor, so naturally I wanna fish haha. Just got myself my first saltwater setup after freshwater bass fishing for most of my life.
