Yes, one week!  You might be as impressed as us or you might not at all be surprised. But last week Friday, we launched Club Maniac, our quarterly subscription service and member's club. If you want to learn more about it, we made a handy little landing page here for you. We've been working on this for a while - and nearly shelved the whole thing. In 2022 we did a survey via our email list on whether or not people would be interested in a subscription box in which we'd share new exclusive products as well as build a community of like-minded condiment freaks.  The replies were somewha ..read more

The supermarket can't satisfy your condiment obsession. But we can.
Condimaniac Blog

We don't have beef with the supermarkets. But if you're the kind of person that likes to try interesting food then often they can leave you wanting. Especially for people like us that enjoy sauces and seasonings. We've all had Tabasco and Paprika, it's fun to mix it up sometimes. It's not the supermarkets fault either. Mass retail by design have to cater to everyone and the reality is that most people just want to stick with comforting and familiar flavours. As a result their selection can be a bit safe. Like, where am I going to go for my Ketchup that tastes like Onion Gra ..read more

Condimaniac Blog

What can we say? 2023 was a mad one. In a good way.  No need to sugarcoat anything, 2022 sucked for Condimaniac and saw us seriously considering closure for a bit. You can hear all about it in this podcast episode we did. Yes, we have a podcast! Luckily the doom and gloom didn't last. So, what did 2023 have in store for us? Let's go through it month by month. We're guaranteed to forget some bits so do let us know if you notice any! January Historically not a strong month in ecommerce, however as per usual we put on our Veganuary promotion and achieve all our targets. We're still wary ..read more

Chamoy Seasoning is now a thing and it's made right here in the UK by us, Condimaniac!

Wikipedia says Chamoy is "a Mexican sauce that may range from a liquid to a paste consistency, and typically its flavour is salty, sweet, sour, and spiced with chilis" You may have seen a lot about chamoy recently on social media like TikTok and Instagram - chamoy pickle kits went somewhat viral there. We observed the trend and the idea for a chamoy seasoning and sauce mix was born!  Our Chamoy Seasoning can be used both as a seasoning and a sauce mix - just stir in a little bit of water or fruit juice to create a Chamoy Sauce. You can use as little or as much water as you want but w ..read more

Keto-friendly Condimaniac seasonings
Condimaniac Blog

Our main mission here at Condimaniac is to bring you the tastiest condiments. Over the last year we've noticed that some of our customers are incorporating our seasonings into their keto diets, so we wanted to highlight some of them on this blog. First off, what's a keto diet? Keto is short for ketogenic, and it's basically a low carbohydrate, high fat diet. The aim is to bring the body into a state of ketosis. This is where the body does not have enough carbohydrates to burn, resulting in the burning of fat instead, which can be desirable for weight loss and maintenance.  The diet/l ..read more

Scotch bonnets and Maple Syrup. A match made in heaven.  We've been interested in making pickles for a while and we finally got around to it. Wicked Pickles are thick cut, crunchy and sweet - they go perfect on burgers, hot dogs or as an addicting snack. No rubbish ingredients, just stuff that adds flavour.  Find this limited edition here - we'll bring it back from time to time, but this isn't a permanent fixture in our shop.        ..read more

Ghost Chilli Salt - Condimaniac presents: Cheeky Salt, the perfect spicy salt grinder
Condimaniac Blog
by Kier Dorran Kemp
1y ago
There are many spicy chilli salts out there so we weren't sure if the world really needed yet another, however we've tried a few and found that often you can't really taste the chilli flavour, which seems a shame, so we've made sure with ours you get that as well as heat. We are planning to release a whole range of different chilli salts, but our first cheeky salt is mixed with the mighty ghost pepper (bhut jolokia) - a chilli we love working with (for example it's in our award-winning Séance sauce and in our Smokey Dragon Rub as well as in The Bad Bagel). It's a bit of a mean one to be honest ..read more

'The Good Bagel' - UK Everything Bagel Seasoning: Pairing Ideas You May Not Have Thought Of!
Condimaniac Blog
by Kier Dorran Kemp

If you've followed us for any amount of time you probably know about our UK take on Everything (But The) Bagel Seasoning 'The Good Bagel'. We've sold thousands of thousands of it - also of 'The Bad Bagel', which is a version we make with added ghost chilli for a spicy kick.  Most of our customers like to use both seasonings topped on Avocado toast or cream cheese-filled bell peppers, but there are actually a lot of other uses, too. We've made several TikToks about some pairings before (we're just called @condimaniac there by the way!), but we'll compile them here for you in one handy spot ..read more

We're not a market brand: How Condimaniac didn't go the usual condiment path.
Condimaniac Blog
by Kier Dorran Kemp

Hey, nothing against markets - we've done the odd one and we're actually doing one this year (shoutout to Hot Sauce Society in London), but I was thinking yesterday that Condimaniac really did not grow the way condiment brands usually do. I don't know if you get many small business ads, but I do - I guess because I have my own one and I follow lots of others, but when it comes to sauce and seasonings brands, the ads usually show the founders behind a market table with a little stand and the caption will be something like "We started our brand 10 years ago from our home kitchen, selling at our ..read more

How to store your condiments to make sure they last a long time and keep tasting great
Condimaniac Blog
by Kier Dorran Kemp

It's the age old question: Does ketchup belong in the fridge or the cupboard? I'm sorry to say, once opened, it's definitely the fridge. And that's not because it wouldn't be safe to store it in a cupboard, but over time, it will degrade, the colour will fade and the taste may become more dull. It's still fine to consume, but it won't look and taste how the manufacturer intended. The reason it's more a question of quality rather than safety is that ketchup contains a tonne of sugar and vinegar - as well as salt. All these ingredients are natural preservatives, meaning it's extremely hard for a ..read more
