I occasionally ride with a helmet cam, normally when I'm away for a few days.
After my recent altercation with an oil tanker I'm seriously thinking of purchasing a permanently wired dashcam type camera system for the GSA
Has anyone on here got something similar ..read more

Looking for suggestions for riding pants. I have some over pants for the winter months, but I’m looking for something lighter for the summer months. I was thinking about the various riding jeans but the style has me worried I would look like a 59 year old rapper. I’m looking for something light weight, with a little padding in the knees and hips with some abrasive resistance… thoughts? They don’t even have to be motorcycle exclusive. Thanks in advance ..read more

I'm thinking of getting Alpinestar Tech 3 after seeing one. Not sure how it'll be riding with it.
Sedici Ultimo was one of the original choice to get.
Maximum ankle /foot protection is top priority. I can live without air flow/vent or keeping feet cool/warm.
Not sure if anyone uses similar above boot and still no issue shifting gears ..read more

Yesterday while getting my eyes checked for the last time after cataract surgery, I saw something that was pure genius.
There was a Harley rider getting new glasses, and he had his helmet with him to make sure the glasses would be comfortable under his helmet.
I walked up to him and told him what a great idea that was.
So now when my new glasses come in, I'm going to do the same thing ..read more

Does anyone have any input or opinion on these ADV pants. I tend to lean towards KLIM but some of the improvements that have been making are really not an improvement IMO ..read more

I bought a pair of Low Forma Adventure boots for Christmas and finally got around to trying them out today. Despite the great fit and finish, I wasn’t able to shift gears on my weestrom. Foot peg and shifter were just too close.
I‘m looking for a g quality boot for mostly touring with a little off road. It would be great to have something that I can walk comfortably in when I get to where I’m going.
Any recommendations for a boot that might fit that bill without modifying the bike...

I found this and works on both of my helmets. Does not interfere with your line of sight. My helmets do not have pin locks, that is why I was looking for a simple remedy, and it is.

Scorpions have been my go to because they seem to fit my head better than most. At present I have a 700, 900 and a 950. The 950 was bought 5 1/2 years ago and has 82,000 mi. on it. Plus many a day in the woods on my DRZ. The shield and liners both need replacing($80+). Would rather put that money into a new helmet.
Has anyone gone to the new 960 from the 950. What is the good and bad. Or even if you just have a 960 with no prior Scorpion experience. Opinions welcome ..read more

Owned two Shoei GT Airs, both used up in crashes. Didn't like the GT Air 2 enough to buy one, bought an RF-1400 instead.
That RF-1400 has been a great helmet. One thing I did miss from the GT Air was the internal sun visor.
About a month ago, Shoei started selling the GT Air 3 in Europe. Still only officially available in Europe, as of this post.
I didn't want to wait, so I ordered one from Motostorm in Italy.
Note: Buying from overseas is not without risk. If you aren't sure about...

I've had them for just shy of a week, and ridden in them for a total of about 3 hours, on my 2004 DL650. Here are some first impressions:
--Yes, they're heavier than some other boots. No, I didn't notice the weight when I was on the bike.
--Yes, walking in them doesn't feel like wearing your favorite pair of hiking boots. No, you won't have a big problem walking in the store to pay for your gas, or from house to bike or whatever.
--Yes, I had to shift differently. No, it wasn't...
