I’m starting a new role as a Design Engineer at a boatbuilder in Charleston and am looking for a room. I would love to find a house in the Pimlico neighborhood, but I haven't seen anything available there. Ideally, I would need a place by May 12th/13th
I like to fish and have a small boat that I can bring along...

I'm wondering if another designer can prescribe KSS or Cylinder molding without owing royalties to Kelsall (decedents thereof... RIP) or Kurt Hughes? I didn't find anything with a very quick google patent search, but thought I'd ask the experts on here.

Dear All,
this is my first post, and I am novice in boat repairs (this is my first project). I am moving forward super slowly (as, super carefully), and I am learning a lot along the way. I have a question with regards to "how much should I cut" of the internal skin in my transom repair in a way I won't damage the structural integrity of the boat (thinking geometry-wise here).
The boat is an Avon Searider SR5.4 where the floor and transom where completely rotten and required replacement....

Hi, Looking at some pointers in filling in my transom holes.
I am replacing the old twin sterndrives and engines with a new engine - long story but well committed now.
The old “holes” need to be filled and a new centre “hole” cut. I have removed the inner core and made a new core from 2 x 18mm Marine Ply all bonded together with thickened epoxy and is ready to be bonded to the outer skin.
I have 3 questions.
1. Should I bond the new core in place first? Advantages are that I can...

I'm doing a university project on the ergonomic problems of boat cockpits/steering wheels. I am specifically working with the Touring 36 or Touring 48 Ferry, however feedback on either model would be helpful.
Finally, I would like to know what problems you observe? Be it button position, height, location, width, etc ..read more

Hi,
I am seeking a partner (a brand) to manufacture boats in Tunisia, primarily for export to Europe. Tunisia, located in North Africa, offers significant advantages: a free trade agreement with Europe (no customs duties), the capital is just a 2-hour flight from Paris, there's access to affordable and skilled labor, the country is stable, and it boasts developed industrial infrastructure. I am an engineer with a degree from Polytechnique and have been the CEO of my own IT integration...

What the hell may as well start a thread so everyone can tell me what I did wrong. One way to learn.
Boat : 19 Glasply
Old Motor : Volvo 4.3L Gas w/DP-290 Leg
Bracket : A&J Marine Welding w/o platform. Trying to keep cost down and shipping to Hawaii is crazy.
New Motor : Mercury Verado 175
Just got tired of the crap MPG. Burning 3.5 - 4 GPH trolling at only 7.5 knts. Also tired of trying to maneuver in the bilge for maintenance and if anything broke.
Another 6 weeks or so to get here so...

there are a few things I’m hoping to know if I can do. That being an access panel in the floor.
The boat has 2 bung plugs one that is above floor level and one below. With no access panel in the...

I'm saddened to announce the abrupt passing of Paul.
His family asked if I would post on any forums or sites that he was on due to his long distance business dealings.
Although I am not an avid member, I frequent the forums primarily as a guest, reading and learning from this great site.
I come to have known Paul from this site and hired him for direct consultation by email and phone.
I had a call into Paul and left a voicemail, a couple days later (yesterday) I received a call from his...
