Hi, I recently moved into a house with electric storage heaters and am looking to replace them with electric radiators. Gas and oil are not viable options for heating the house and heat pumps are too expensive, so I've narrowed it down to a choice between ceramic core radiators and oil/gel-filled electric radiators (wall-mounted). Could anyone give me some advice about which is the best option in terms of efficiency and safety? I'm not bothered about all the bells and whistles, wifi-control... Read more ..read more

Got a customer with a little dilemma. They have a rental cottage attached to their main house, and have successfully let it out for a few years. It sat empty for a while, and they were going to rent it out again, but it now needs a good EPC certificate before they are allowed to. Best rating they get at the moment is an F, but they need better than that. The heating at the moment is a couple of wet radiators fed off a back boiler, and old panel heaters as a back up. The EPC surveyor says... Read more ..read more

Hello , I’m trying to further my knowledge into UFH/Rad/HW valves heating systems with air source pumps. What is normally needed outside with the unit itself? Do people use a multi core cable to come out of the isolator? Also, where and what cables are needed to manifolds etc? I understand that every unit may be designed to be controlled different so cables may differ. Just some examples from ones that people have fitting would be great. Where has most people gained there own... Read more ..read more

I had an ebay switch for £16 which failed. -- Separate thing, i'm actually thinking about zoning off the warmer upstairs of my house, any progress in zone valves since I last fitted one 20 years ago...
