A new water heater was installed a few months ago and I used Shark Bite water lines. The cold water line's valve did not close all the way and would let a little bit of water through, so I replaced just that cold water line/valve. After replacing, my water heater makes a funny noise only when the hot water is on. The more I turn on the hot water faucet the louder the sound gets. Hi All, new member here. I used to help my uncle who was a licensed plumber so I know just enough to get myself in trouble! So I installed this indirect water heater off the boiler back in 2006. It's a Techtanium TT40. It just started leaking from the top along the plastic. It's a slow pooling leak. It does not look like it's coming from the nipple where it screws into the heater but from deeper within. Is there any fix or do I need to sped $1300 for a new one? Thanks in advance for any... I was just about to order a Ariston water heater. I read there warranty... If its not installed by one of thier approved pliumbers-- no warranty-- Nothing against you pros, but I can install a WH. So now my only other option is the marathon. At least they allow DIY. I think the only reason there tanks may leak is the ploybutylene , since it doesn't like chlorine. I'm sure you've read my posts on Water Heaters... How about an opinion on this... My current wh is still working, maybe pulling a bit more electricity than before. I'm thinking that bottom element is buried. It's a Maytag, not made anymore, no parts available. I was thinking I might attempt to drain it, open the hot outlet, run a camera down inside just to see what I can see. Since it's been 24 years, I'll expect to see no annode, and a bunch of sediment. I have 2 water heaters plumbed in series with each other. Have to change bad supply shutoff valve , and considering plumbing in parallel instead of in series. Is it acceptable to supply in Pex and run down to heaters in stainless steel supply lines? Thanks in advance for help/insight ..read more

I have been contemplating the purchase of a hp water heater. I have a concern over where I would need to locate it. That would be in my woodworking workshop. I'm thinking it may just be to dusty for it to live there. The temp range should be fine 55 - 80 , but that darn wood dust may just be to much, it could clog the filters to easily. I have a 1/4" copper pipe from the gas meter through a brick/2x4 wall, it then has a flare T with one side going to the furnace and the other going to the water heater. The wall is unfinished (no drywall), but I want to put up drywall. To do that I need to straighten out the existing pipe to minimize the cutout in the drywall. I have a 5yr old (gas) hot water heater that I think needs to be drained. Recently, I noticed the hot water is initially turning brown when first turned on in ANY sink fo the house. After about 5 mins running, it clears up.
