Fresh oil change was the last thing I did to it a year or 2 ago. At least started it to check for leaks, may have taken a ride around the pasture but don't remember. It sits way too much. Last fall I started it and it was hard to start. Would not idle or stay running unless you were about half throttle. Not even trying to ride it, just starting it to move it. Choking, puking, and blue smoke. So I figure the carb went to crap on it. Finally ordered a new carb, got it yesterday, put it on... 2006 Ozark 250 Blue Smoke ..read more

1985 LT250EF - Can't get over even slight bumps on a start - When moving it runs great

My 1985 LT250EF has been basically rebuilt a few times in the last few weeks. Motor parts swapped from 2 motors as I had internal damage on the original one so it wasn't shifting. Have a 10 tooth sprocket to the motor and a 41 tooth sprocket on the wheel. I have a strange issue however after all this work. If I have even a few inch height in front of my wheel I can't budge the quad if its a dead stop. However if I am on flat field I can move no issue and get up a few gears. I got stuck in... 1985 LT250EF - Can't get over even slight bumps on a start - When moving it runs great ..read more

I am new to atvs and viehcles and this is the first thing ive worked on so be easy one me! A day ago it was running perfectly fine, this was when i replaced sparkplug, and carb. It did not backfire often and rode smooth. I then changed oil, oil filter, and air filter. This is an older atv from 1989 so the air filter had a pipe than ran from the carburetor to a box that had an air filter in it. I took the pipe completely off and just directly attached a new air filter to carb as seen in... 1989 QUADRUNNER LT-160 ENGINE DIES WHEN THROTTLING ..read more

Hi all. I just wanted to ask if it was normal to change the front axle gear oil by having to remove the front skid plate?? I was actually quite shocked...not to see a proper placed hole in the skid plate to gain access to the drain bolt. Here are my findings... Fill plug bolt = 17mm Drain plug bolt = 21mm (magnetic) Both Fill and Drain plug bolt = tighten at 16.5 ft/lbs 80W-90 hypoid gear oil that meets API-GL5 standard Capacity = 5.1oz (or... 2000 King Quad 300 4x4 -- front axle gear oil ..read more
