Technically, Do I even need a controller?

If for simplicity and weight's sake I wanted to just put a button between my battery and hub motor, would that work? Can I just pedal up several miles an hour and push a button to turn on power and take my finger off when I want it off? technically speaking that is. The battery seems to indicate it's level at the push of a button right on it- I don't think I'm interested in any pedal assist for the small use trips of several miles I may need in my mid-60's. I know the brake cut-off is... Technically, Do I even need a controller ..read more

I found this picture on FB & thought it looked interesting, (& I'd share it with you). I'm not sure if it's actually a good working design... It looks like a self charging ebike. What do you ebike guys think? Could something like this really work?? My thoughts are that the alternator probably won't spin fast enough to keep it charged & also the battery is way too small. What would you guys (with actual knowledge of ebikes) do to it? [ATTACH type="full" alt="ebike with... self charging ebike ..read more

Hey everyone, I'm in the market for a folding ebike and wanted to get some recommendations and advice. I've been researching various models, but I'm still unsure about which one to go for. I'm particularly interested in compact designs for easy storage and portability. Battery life and overall durability are also important factors for me. If you have any personal experiences with folding ebikes or if you've come across reliable reviews, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Any suggestions on... Folding eBike Question ..read more

My wife has become interested in buying a e-trike, we don’t want a strip down model but one with hydraulic disc brakes and enough power for a fairly good trip. I’m asking all of the electric guys to tell me what watt we need, thanks in advance ..read more

While I'm waiting for the parts to finish the Indian tri car I decided to build a vintage style electric tri car of my own design. It's started but due to our usual fall monsoon rains here in British Columbia I can only work a day or two every week with luck and it looks like next Tuesday will be our next rain free day so I'll give you an idea where the build is headed. This is the general style of the tri car. The "gas tank" will be the battery box and I'm using a 40's/50's Monark frame to... The Epic an electric tri car ..read more

This is my new Stealth Bomber, electric motor bicycle. So new in fact that I've only managed to pedal it up and down my block 2 times. I have plans to customize it to make it mine, but right now nothing is carved in stone. I welcome your suggestions. I ride in the concrete jungle, so that's the direction I'm heading with modifications. All I've done to it so far is install low profile street tires to replace the knobblies that came on it from the factory. The only other work was to start... This is my Stealth Bomber ..read more

I need help with someone steering me in the right direction. First I had a Cozy Bike given to me, I don't know the model number or where to look for it. I would like to get a manual for it if possible. It's missing the Headlight shroud and the shroud around the lower portion of the batteries. I do have two sets of batteries and the compartments there mounted in that slides in behind the seat. I'll try to post a picture. I hope someone can help as this is my first venture into Electric Bikes... New to Electric Bicycles ..read more
