Few things scream summer like grilling and beer! So, we thought why not share a fun recipe our team made that smashes those two worlds together? Introducing: Totally Chicken! With our summer seasonal Totally Chill Hazy IPA’s notes of pineapple and mango, it makes the perfect addition to a beer marinade acting as the sugar and vinegar. It also works well with tofu, for those that aren’t meat-inclined. (Just be sure to use extra firm tofu, press it for 6 hours, and marinade for 6-8 hours or overnight. That way it can soak up all that tasty marinade goodness) Scroll on for the recipe!

To celebrate Craft Beer Week this year, we wanted to focus on the people behind the beer. For our last interview, we spoke to Danielle Redman, our Sustainability Manager!
SO, DANIELLE, WHAT DO YOU DO HERE?
I consider myself a jack of all trades. I can be on the brew tower, in the lab, on the packaging line, in the cellar…so that’s super fun and exciting! Whatever I’m needed for, I’ve got it covered!
WHAT GOT YOU INTO BREWING?
I got into the industry in 2015, so I’m relatively early on. Like a lot of people, I originally wanted to get into food, but I found that culinary school wasn’t w ..read more

Hopworks Brewery has officially dropped the “Urban” from its name, citing a desire to simplify its identity from the interchangeable “HUB/Hopworks” name.
“After 15 years of having two names, and probably confusing a few folks along the way, we have decided to drop ‘Urban’ and cal ..read more

It’s Wednesday morning and co-owner Brandie Ettinger is kicking off this month’s B Team meeting. Kitchen prep can be heard through the shared cement wall, and an early lunch crowd is starting to fill the patio. The B Team, roughly five team members from the pub, brewery, and admin departments, filters into the banquet room at the Powell Mothership and spreads out, sipping coffee. Brandie pulls up projects in-progress on her laptop and starts the meeting.
Maybe you’ve read on our website that B Corp is our north star, but what does that mean? At present, there are just under 4,000 B Cor ..read more

Please forgive errors in both Spanish and English as, frankly, our esteemed interviewer isn’t particularly skilled in either. ?

Caleb Colours focuses on some detail work at the Powell pub.
The Powell Pub is getting a facelift from local mural artists Caleb Colours and Danny Stephens! The three murals are twists on historical photos with a familiar face from owners Brandie and Christian Ettinger’s family, and iconic beer industry figures. The artists took a quick lunch break to talk art and beer.
Caleb Colours is a befitting name for a painter. Did it inspire your career?
