All Mom Does
by Kristina Slaney

Helicopter parents hover over their children – whether it’s constantly shadowing the ..read more

My family loves playing games together, and recently, my husband and I introduced our kids to Dutch Blitz. It’s a fast-paced card game, which means lots of screaming and shouting in our home. We get very excited when our blitz pile is empty and we win the round. While being the fastest player in Dutch Blitz is fun, it made me wonder if fast is good and slow is bad. In our world, we live at lightning speed. If we want to keep up and be productive, we need to move quickly. The rat race of life feels normal to many of us. But is that sustainable? Healthy? Biblical? I’d argue that we can’t keep up ..read more

All Mom Does
by Ann Kirsten

I saw the most beautiful lollipops on Pinterest a few years ago. Even though I knew I’d probably never make them, I pinned the recipe because the pictures were so beautiful. Making hard candy is an exact science and I don’t do well with rigid recipes. I like to experiment and change things up. Recently, my granddaughter and I tried to make honey drops for her brother’s sore throat. We boiled the ingredients for what seemed like forever, and it never did reach the hardball stage on the candy thermometer. We ended up with rather mushy drops that stuck together. So, when I ran into the beautiful ..read more
