Thanks to everyone here! I had the same problem and resolved it by stopping the McAfee App in the App Center and starting it again. I didn't try just stopping/disabling and re-enabling the scheduled scans as @capsloth suggested, but I suppose this would have worked, too. Hi there, I just stumbled over the documentation for it: https://www.qnap.com/en-us/how-to/faq/a ... s-refer-to According to this, Err:2 means "Data could not be read from/written to the object" (e.g. when currently locked by other process) and Err:3 means "File is encrypted and scanner is unable to decrypt". After moving to the new version of McAfee Antivirus Version 3.2 program permanently engages form 25 to 50% CPU and occupies about 1.2 GB RAM, although the Real-time Scan is off. What does it do there? I have Real-time Scan disabled because my NAS TS-251 with 4 GB RAM is old and I see no sense in replacing it. It seems enough when the anti-virus scans the files twice a week at night. The synced computers have their own antivirus software. Even if I set Real-time Scan to "on", the system load does not increase. Irrespective of if the Real-time Scan is "on" or "off" in Resource Monitor three M ..read more

Just throwing out there, I just stopped and re-enabled scheduled scan to fix it for myself. Maybe try that first before remove/re-install. Statistics: Posted by capsloth — Tue May 30, 2023 2:40 am ..read more

Greetings, all I am seeing that my McAfee AV scheduled scans finish instantly almost, within 3 seconds. This is happening with both a full NAS scan and a selected folders only scan, I have deleted and completely recreated each of the scheduled scans and the very same thing, scans run for less than 3 seconds. Has anyone else seen such an activity? Statistics: Posted by ArasaQN — Thu Apr 20, 2023 10:09 pm ..read more

Hi Smeijer, here's what happened. A ticket was logged and I shared the logs with them. They said the following "I have reviewed the System log messages and the Kernel Messages and i can see evidence of both app updating their definition successfully even after you raised the ticket, I would need to investigate security councillor can you provide me with remote access please?" (Note at this point SC was still saying the signatures were out of date). After their remote access session they said this "I can confirm that Mcafee is running the latest AV Definition according to Mcafee's website I h ..read more
