The Limerick Panto Society is something I'm proud to be part of. Not only because of the immense talent showcased every year, but because of how well everyone works together, just like a family. When I did my first panto in 2012, I was incredibly nervous. I hadn't been on stage in years, and the idea of performing day after day in front of eager crowds made me sick to my stomach. I remember on the first day of rehearsals, we sat down in a circle in front of Tony and Carol. As we listened, they introduced themselves and the Panto for that year, Beauty and the Beast. I immediately felt at ease ..read more

Panto is a great introduction to Theatre for kids. It has it all: a well-known story with a twist, suspense, jokes, music, dancing and encouragement to shout back to the characters on stage. Classics like “Oh, no, it doesn’t!”, “Oh yes, it does!”, “They’re behind you!” and “Booooo!” can be uttered on a regular basis during the show. We went outside and put the Full Hou ..read more

I have been involved with LPS right from the beginning. I was a part of the panto course for the first 3 Productions.  And I became involved with the "front of house" staff and then to the committee where I am still involved today.  I have some great memories of doing the box office at the Crescent Theatre - I used to do this for a number of years during my school holidays. As time went on we moved to the Belltable Arts Centre in O'Connell Street Limerick - the Belltable was a lovely warm and intimate venue, but in order to make ends meet we had to do a lot of shows, in our last yea ..read more
