A tremendously entertaining presentation about why the Nazi fighter jet was a steaming pile. I'm no aviation expert, so I can't speak to the accuracy of all the points he makes. But he's quite compelling, occasionally hysterical and frequently foul-mouthed. Go ye, and watch of it ..read more

Frozen truck battery

My truck battery has not been holding a charge, and I've jumped it 3 times in the last 6 weeks. It sits outside and doesn't seem to like the cold. Wouldn't start today so I got out the charger and hooked it up, and the charger acted wierd. Shut it off and popped the caps only to find ice on top of each of the cells. Called my mechanic who installed it for me in July 2013, and he's getting a new one for me tomorrow. In all my years of vehicle ownership, I've never had a battery freeze up on... I am looking for a copy of the manual that superseded the 1952 edition of the TM 9-1825B Electrical Equipment (Auto-lite). I have a 1954 M38A1, and neither the 1944 nor the 1952 editions cover the distributor that is in my Jeep (Superior Magneto Corp. SM-1004) The ordnance number 7358569 on my distributor matches the Auto-lite on page 44 of TM 9-2320-208-20P (1966), but the Auto-lite had points and mine has an electrical pickup. Such a manual has to exist they made the M38A1 until 1971 ..read more
