Been given a friends laptop to try and extract the data off. Its a 2018 Acer Extensia with a Kingston 256gb SSD drive. Laptop was just showing the message no bootable device so I removed the SSD, stuck it in a 2.5" Caddy and plugged it into my laptop. It does the usual ping when you plug it in then flickers for a few seconds before doing the other ping that normally signifies its been disconnected like you unplugged the cable. I just cloned a 256GB SSD installed in a Windows 11 Acer desktop to a 2TB SSD purchased from Crucial as compatible for this specific system. I used Macrium Reflect and attached the new 2TB SSD to the system with an external USB SSD Drive enclosure. The original disk was shown as a GPT disk, and the cloned disk was created a GPT also. When completed the original disk and the cloned disk looked identical in Macrium and in Windows 11 Disk Management UI, except the new SSD had a large amount of unpartitioned space. Hi, I have an Acer laptop and have replaced the DVD drive with an additional disk for extra storage. This is working great but when I power off and on, I get the 'No bootable Device Found'  I checked the BIOS and the original drive with the OS is first. If I then select 'Save and Exit' it then boots up fine. I don't actually make any changes whatsoever. If I simply restart the laptop this doesnt happen, only when I Shutdown and then power back on. I have a dead acer aspire computer and trying to troubleshoot it. Having trouble deciding whether its the motherboard or CPU though. WIth the ram and power plugged in the fans all spin but no beep codes. If I remove the ram completely I get one long beep code which is expected. If I plug in the video card there is no output (no onboard graphics) video card works in another computer. No other PCI slots to test a different slot. I purchased a retail box ACER desktop for my son around Christmas time. The other day he noticed that the fans were noisy and the top of the box was hot. Turns out the cooling fan in the power supply died. I called Acer on Wednesday night, late at night and asked if they could send me a power supply rather than have to send the whole computer in for repair. The agent said he could not approve that but suggested that I call back on Thursday morning. Hi, I recently got myself an older Acer Aspire Series 1300. The problem I need help with is that it will randomly shut off as if the power was cut from it; after that it just stays off, doesn't reset. If I press power button immediately again it will go through POST and as soon as it tries to boot from HDD power will shut off. If it stays off for some time, then it will work longer, but not always, sometimes it just pops and shuts off. Usually it happens when fan starts spinning. My client has an Acer Spin SP513-52N The product is 9 months out of warranty and the speed shows as 0.4Ghz under Task Manager/Performance and the speed is slow. I've changed the laptop to start with Safe Mode using msconfig and CPU was back to 1.6ghz, however, I'm trying to find the application or driver that is causing this issue. I've disabled antivirus.
