Does anyone know of photographic businesses in the Hamilton / Greater Toronto Area which still print Optical Photographs from Film? All I can find is outfits which digitally scan & print Film Pictures.
If Film users cannot get Optical Photographs of their Pictures then there's no point to them continuing to use Film, and Film Photography will die out ..read more

Spent an hour at the ROM's special exhibition about the family camera and consequently about the images one takes of one's family. It's surreal how, no matter the cultural background of the snapper, subjects can be predictably classified. And how uncanny similar the composition.

This was a juried exhibition by the Pineridge Arts Council. Photographers are all locals and really love photography a la camera club. All digital to be expected.

This collection at the AGO is a fascinating eclectic exhibition. It coincides with Free Black North, an exhibition of unknown free blacks entering Canada during the American Civil War. A must see.

Some of my favourite works...
Linneus Tripe - he only photographed for 6 years in India and Burma, then stopped.

I just bought my first medium format film camera (not counting the Brownie I had in the 1970's), and while I am getting what I need to process the film at home, I am not sure I have the space to set up a fullblown darkroom for traditional printing.
Does anyone in the Toronto area have recommendations for traditional wet darkroom rentals, that won't force me to get a 2nd mortgage?
Thanks in advance ..read more

I just bought my first bulk film loader and I’m wondering what’s the best source in Canada for bulk film, or do you order from the US?
