Bought a policy approx 20 years ago 400k death benefits. I've been paying $230 a month since. Got a bunch of dividends over the time which I spent on various things. I've gotten myself in cc debt recently so I took out the cash value and got loan of $50k on it at at 5% last week. I got a new job so I'm paying it back.Cheaper than what the cc company is charging(22%). The death benefit on it is $352k currently.
I also have another policy which is 15 years old, for 300k death benefits. I pay $200 a month. Current db is $242k on it as I also took out a loan against it same 5% 18k loan but still ..read more

Honest question here. Why do older people want life insurance?
Once your dependants (kids) are out of the house, and your house is likely paid off, why would 55,60+ people even want life insurance? Is it because they’ve saved zero money for retirement?
Please school me, as I only see the point of life insurance in your 30s,40s (or once dependants are on their own)

I’m 55 and my wife is 51. We don’t have life insurance and I’m kind of scared. It wasn’t a priority when we were younger and here we are.
We’re on a fairly tight budget. Where do we start with getting something reasonable at our age?

Hey everyone I just finished my Life insurance exam through Pearson Vue and passed on my first go! (I Give all credit to Kaplan’s pre licensing course) and I’m curious if anyone here knows how to see your actual score? I know a pass is a pass but I’m just curious to see what I got percentage wise not just “pass” Thank you in advance for any help!

I don't know much about insurance and am just beginning to research at the request of someone close to me. She's 78 years old with 2 adult children (they don't live with her but help support her). She's in good health for her age. What are some recommendations (or even best) for types of policies?

As the subject indicates, I recently found a mistake on my application while looking to add more life insurance. I somehow checked no on the family history box next to heart attack (which my dad had 20+ years ago, he’s still alive). It was a policy without medical testing or records request. What should I do? I don’t want a chance at this payout being declined for my family due to this misrepresentation. Can they even access my father’s records?
