Does anyone have an email address for Amtrak Consumer Affairs? I tried several times sending an email through their website today regarding a recent bad experience and the message would not go through with no explanation why. I would like to send it to their consumer affairs department, or better yet send it to an appropriate executive. Thanks ..read more

Hi everyone, Can you please tell me if the New Rochelle station used by Amtrak is the same as that used by Metro-North? I'd like to travel Newark Penn to New Rochelle on Amtrak, and New Rochelle to Greenwich CT on Metro-North. Would I have to change train stations? If same station, would I have to change platforms? Thank you ..read more

Was looking through my account and noticed a 1000 point "goodwill bonus" for an Acela F trip (an award trip even) which had a delay in February. I haven't seen any posts about this, but if this is a new benefit (maybe tied to status (Select Plus in my case)?) I approve ..read more

Going on a work trip from the DC area to Newport News. The final destination is not accessible via transit, and I expect to need a car to get around between sites. I'm seeing a Hertz location about a 20-minute walk from the Norfolk station, and a Hertz/Budget a ways from the Newport News station. None of them seem to have any pickup/dropoff options. Are there any other options I haven't found to make taking the train more feasible ..read more

Where to spend a night in North Dakota?

Sun Country is starting seasonal Minneapolis service to my home airport of Monterey, CA on August 8th and I am planning to book the inaugural. Via the Empire Builder, this would be a perfect way to tick off N Dakota on my 'states visited' list. Flights are scheduled Thursdays and Sundays, so if I do this, I'd have one week to see St Paul and do the N Dakota side trip, with first and last nights at a MSP airport hotel. Fargo and Grand Forks are the larger cities with more going on culturally and hotel options-wise. I don't mind one horse towns at all, but the hotels are quite far from the stat ..read more
