Is there a penalty/punishment for checking in , going through security and not boarding a plane?

Long story short- I'm dating someone who has a short layover in Boston (we are long distance). I want to see her for 20 minutes or so and see her off so want to buy a ticket somewhere random and go through security with no intention of boarding the plane. Could there be any action or could I be investigated? My plan was just to go through, see her off and then tell the airline security that I wont be able to make the flight. Is it easy to leave the airport? or shall I not risk this.... FYI I dont care about the ticket money submitted by /u/lordswolf23 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Seats unassigned 12 hours after check in

My husband and I are returning to DC from Hawaii (HNL-PHX-DCA) this evening @9pm. We checked in yesterday at 9pm and originally had seats in row 11. We used our lowly gold perk to select MCE seats in bulkhead row 8 at the 24 hour check in mark (for the first leg HNL-PHX). The second leg (PHX-DCA), MCE was full so we have our original seats, also row 11. We woke up this morning at 8:30 and looked to see if any additional seats/better seats had opened on either leg of the flight but none had. At this time we had tickets and seat assignments showing row 8 MCE for the first leg and row 11 for the ..read more

Is 1 hour layover in ORD doable?

I have a flight arriving in ORD at 8:54AM then another leaving at 9:55AM for Vancouver. Question is: **Are the flights to Canada the same terminal or nah? If not, is it possible to make it on time for my next flight? I'm aware most gates closed 20+ mins before departure so I'm assuming I really only have 30mins to jump from one plane to another. Thank you ~ submitted by /u/kimtoshi [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I would like to book 3 tickets in main cabin and see if the app offers us an upgrade deal to premium economy or business. If not, can I cancel tickets with the 24 hour cancellation policy. And then rebook premium economy on that flight? Thanks! submitted by /u/Sunkitten0 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Anyone else on here get to enjoy the emergency landing in Madrid on AA120?

Just curious. This was a flight to Doha that had to do an emergency change of course and landing in Madrid on April 25th. I’ve noticed that the airline did everything they could to keep it out of the press, especially the manner in which they nearly screwed over the passengers, then dumped them at a hotel that was already full (so they ended up having to walk a bit to find another hotel which was… interesting, and barely functional in parts). That is, if AA couldn’t just strand the passengers at the airport (and they definitely tried). I’ve been on flights where a medical emergency has o ..read more

Complimentary Preferred Seating - Corporate Travel

Does anyone know how to upgrade to complimentary preferred seating through the AA app? My company has them listed as a preferred airline and I’m also guessing they have established relationship of business with them since the company uses travel often. I read that if you are a corporate traveler the preferred seating (in green) should be complimentary. Thank you! submitted by /u/Anonymous_Winter_ [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
