I found like 10 small mushrooms growing out of one of my sarracenia today. And, to be clear, when I say "growing out of [a] sarracenia", I don't mean they were growing out of the same pot; they were seemingly growing right out of the rhizome. I guess it's possible they were just growing out of the stumps of old pitchers that had been previously chopped off though? The rhizome is pretty crowded I guess, so it's hard to tell exactly. Sarracenia purpurea, native to North America, is the most northerly cold tolerant of all the Sarracenia. Older traps become less carnivorous resulting in this plant often having mutually beneficial relationship with a type of mosquito larvae on the east coast of North America.
