Fear of too short stoploss

NEED ADVICE FOR A BEGINNER I'm fairly new to trading but I dedicated almost 1 year to learn and experience trading. I have disciplined myself to only have a really small amount in my trading account (only around $20 max) and I only trade $5 below $5 per trade I have built a good confidence in entering in to trade positions. But the issue is even though I have good trade entries, I try to keep my SL very small so that I don't loose and most of the time the SL is hit and trade goes into profit.. And for some reason I can't seem to shake that block to widen my SL out of (somewhat) fear of blowin ..read more

Those with high R:R strategies, how did you learn them?

I'm profitable but I don't have a high R:R. My R:R is .5 on the average trade so I'm risking 10 points to make 5 on NQ. This works, because I have an extremely high win rate. However, I'd like to see if I can add a strategy to my books that involves higher R:Rs and a lower win %, to catch some of these bigger moves that happen in the market. Is any (profitable and consistent) trader willing to share where they learned their strategies? and please for god's sake don't suggest ICT. submitted by /u/midwestboiiii34 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Reversal indications?

For those that excel at range/mean revision trading, what do you see that tells you “ok this is the reversal”. For some reason I always seem to get in just slightly too early. I’m big into volume profile so today’s false breakouts seemed pretty straight forward to me, but both times I got in too early and got stopped out. Any thoughts would be appreciated. submitted by /u/mp018 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Is YM the forgotten gem?

I hate to make one of these posts and this is actually my first post (finally have enough karma). But, I see everyday a new post about NQ or ES and very few discussing YM. Even when you search (believe it or not I did that) there is limited discussion. I personally trade NQ exclusively, but I see primarily either experienced/mature traders trading YM or Forex CFD boys trading US30. Many experienced/mature traders also trade ES. It seems like NQ while has many experienced traders, it always gets the attention of the new gambler on the block. ES for me is heavy and gets the tug of war between Y ..read more

So from about 2:00pm till close; I’m genuinely curious to see how many people got train wrecked by NQ around that time period? To me personally, I thought it was clear that the bulls were in control after the bottom wick appeared and we continued to go higher from there. Did anyone try to short the revisit of the trend line? Or was it obvious that bulls were in control for y’all as well and it was dangerous to short? Just wanted to hear people perspective and opinions based off this afternoon session! I believe it was a bit tricky and maybe took the more than average trader to see the bigger ..read more

We have all officially survived CPI week and now we have FOMC Minutes to look forward to next week. Realistically the way I look at it is that there is nothing major data wise that will help the bears. Outside of an unforeseen event I really do think we are going to be starting the next leg up until FOMC in June. https://preview.redd.it/dx5bushfm11d1.png?width=975&format=png&auto=webp&s=ac8c6b3be71ec114cb4facf42c12c27044b45e18 Fairly mild data week coming up which is always nice for us traders. TPO vs VOL Profile

Hey guys, Super noob here again. Wondering why traders use TPO for their historical analysis rather than only Volume Profile with value areas and a POC. It seems to me that time is not a factor when it comes to finding fair value, but I have been sim trading since breakfast so there could be a legitimate reason to bring time into the analysis. Enlighten me. submitted by /u/Forward-Cut5790 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
