Micky finished the 100mile virtual walk to the South Pole in March. Micky's fabulous selfies meant that Micky won a prize for having the best pictures. The prize is free entry into the Ultra Challenge Kent Downs 50, Micky is excited about doing the 50km walk on 12th October but would really appreciate some walking buddies for support and company along the way. Rudy is using his reporting skills and his 3rd Birthday to help boost the reach of our Feral Appeal. Rudy has created his report and explains why Shropshire Cat Rescue’s support of feral colonies is so important to him. Rudy explains how as a day old he was found orphaned in one of the feral colonies we support, he was brought into the shelter and hand reared by Marion the shelter manager who ended up adopting him. Micky our mascot cat and Claire a volunteer are kickstarting their new year with challenges to get active. Micky will be doing a virtual challenge to the South Pole and needs to cover 100 miles between now and 31st March. Micky will be popping up around Shropshire so keep your eyes peeled you may see Micky when you are out and about walking. Santa Paws has been busy throughout December visiting various places around Shropshire and Wolverhampton. Children have been writing letters saying what their pets would like for Christmas and Santa Paws ensured he read every single letter. It was so heartwarming for Santa Paws and the volunteers to read them. Santa Paws did regular posts with the help of the resident cats so people could hear a small selection of the letters received. Sadly Mic has come back to us for a third time. Due to the sudden and tragic loss of his previous owners. Mic has now lost two loving homes in tragic ways Mic is a sweet 13 year old boy who loves fuss. Due to spinal issues, Mic needs close monitoring, regular veterinary care and pain relief. Mic has become our most recent Retirement Village resident. He is already soaking up the fuss from volunteers and settling well. Rudy the shelter managers cat who was hand reared from a day old. He is now 2 years old and has taken on the role as supervisor around the shelter, he helps out volunteers and regularly tries to break into the Retirement Village and is always keen to play with kittens and other cats.
