Hello all! New here, but hoping y’all can help us figure out what’s wrong with our sweet boy. Details are below. Long story short, we've taken him to multiple vets, gotten tons of tests done, but still don't have any solid idea as to what's wrong with him. The latest vet says the only option left is to do a biopsy and potentially subject him to chemo. Before we put him through any of that, I thought we’d give this forum a shot to see if anyone has any idea what our boy is dealing with. On a... Senior cat suffering from mystery illness(es)? Cat obsessively paces, snifs, gets stuck in corners

My cat has been on insulin for a few years and started to have strange episodes. He would obsessively pace the perimeter of the room sniffing everything as he went. If he came to an obstacle he would go over it or under it if at all possible. He got stuck behind open doors without knowing he could just back up. He got stuck behind the washing machine again without just backing up. It lasts for an hour or so and then he seems OK. After about 3 of these occurrences I took him to our vet. They... Persian under eye infection

Hello everyone, My Persian cat seems to have developed some kind of infection under her eyes. I do clean her eyes everyday with something called Pretty Eyes and it was working so far for the most part. Now it keeps getting worse. My vet tells me she has malassezia and prescribed me some eye tissues that are not doing anything. I imagine this is quite common. Any suggestions anyone? Perhaps something natural? Thanks ..read more

My cat is on antibiotics and has lost her appetite....what to do?

My cat is taking a fluoroquinolone antibiotic for an E-Coli UTI. I was lucky for three days: she took the pill in a pill pocket. Yesterday, she would hardly eat her regular Fancy Feast and this morning, she only licked some off my finger. She seems hungry but doesn't eat her regular food. She did eat Temptations yesterday. She licked some butter off my finger last night -- I wanted to get some calories in her. Any suggestions on enticements ..read more

Spiralling vomit >_<

TLR: any thoughts on the idea of deliberately putting down far too much dry food so there will always be more than 3 cats can realistically eat? (hate to be wasteful but it’s the next thing I’m considering trying to solve the problems I’m having with my cats). The situation: We have 3 cats, 2 of the 3 are vomiting so regularly that we are cleaning up piles of sick on average once per day. One of the cats is prone to vomiting during the act of eating wet food, the other is most likely to... Spiralling vomit >_< ..read more

I have a current litter of 5 kittens. They are 6 weeks old. 4 kittens have been eating wet food for over a week but one is still not interested even if I put some in his mouth. How long should I wait to take him to the vet to see if there is something wrong? He is nursing and maybe just a few ounces smaller then the others but definitely not runty. Also my kittens seem healthy active and playful but they all get some small crusties in the corners of their eyes that I wipe out everyday. They... I have a couple question ..read more

We brought our 8 week old home and went to the vet the next day with a URI, sneezing runny nose caughing and wheezing. Vet dewormed her and treated her for fleas and mites, and also put her on antibiotics and drops for her eyes. After about 2.5 weeks she was seemingly healthy. No more runny nose or watery eyes, clear breathing and playing like any other normal kitten. And then she stayed in bed all day only getting up to eat or potty. This got worse the next day so took her to vet on... Sick Kitten ..read more

Manx syndrome

Hello, I recently adopted a kitten from our local animal shelter. Unbeknownst to me he had Manx syndrome or Spina bifida. He is absolutely precious and his condition really doesn't slow him down in the least. He hops like a rabbit and is very fast! My issue is that he is semi incontinent. I think he can feel he needs to have a bowel movement as he goes to the litter box. Unfortunately he either can't feel that he has had the movement or doesn't have the spincter muscle needed to complete... Manx syndrome ..read more

Did you spay or neuter your kitty cat?

Do you have your cat spayed or neutered? That was one of the first things we did when our 3 babies were old enough. It is my belief that they should be at some point so they do not create unwanted cats and for two they live longer if you do this to them. And I want to get as many years with my babies as I can ..read more
