Just a heads up as the days grow cooler (or not ) w/candles & pets ---both dogs & cats. List of Toxic Essential Oils Unlike humans, dogs and cats lack the proper enzymes to break down and digest many essential oils. Even then, experts say there are several pure essential oils you should avoid diffusing and direct use entirely. You should always avoid any direct contact and never apply essential oils (deemed... tomlinsons.com Helpful reminder ..read more

Hello, everyone. I am seeking advice on a critical issue. My 7-year-old, 7lb, intact male was injured one year ago by a veterinarian (now being sanctioned by our State for what happened to my baby). My little guy, SweetPea, suffered a painful injury to both eyes when this vet's assistant put an unknown chemical in SweetPea's eyes, leading to severe irritation of the corneas. SweetPea underwent treatment for 9 months involving eye meds applied 7 times a day for the first 3 months. During this... My Male has been biting us and now it has escalated ..read more

Cody had his ultrasound and his results from the veterinarian are uneasy.. My Vet said the Ultrasound states Cody’s Liver Looks Irregular- in the same area where he had the Lobectmy. That’s where the liver mass tumor was removed a few years ago. The ultrasound shows no mass just that the liver looks irregular?? Now - could the tumor be back?? Could it be scar tissue from the past surgery?? My vet has no answer’s because she is unsure.. but thinks maybe the cancer has returned. Now I... Cody’s updated ultrasound ..read more

So Sunday afternoon my husband decided to have a bologna sandwich. He tossed the casing ring in the trash and it landed on the top and it was pretty full. Bardie is not a trash digger but I guess the smell of bologna was just too much for him. I was standing in the kitchen and saw him going for the trash. Behold, he had the casing ring in his mouth. I ran over grabbed him saying "drop it" "drop it" (a command he knows) and I tried to grab it and POOF he swallowed it! Sunday, vet closed so... Just in case this happens to you. Yesterday afternoon we saw Kitzi's eye specialist----she was brilliant. She studied at Cornell & Stanford so we knew she was smart, but we had no idea she would be so caring & compassionate! It was worth the 2 month wait to get in to see her! Kitzel's eyes are good (he does have a teeny-tiny cataract in each eye which I had seen, but the tech could not see it. Dr. S confirmed that though very small it is, indeed, there. She believes as we originally thought that Kitzi may be having some... Eye Specialist for Kitzel ..read more

This is excellent information (video) that I took from my FB group. It is one of the most helpful & informative videos I have seen on CT. It does not mention Lomotil which Kitzi uses & it has been extremely helpful for him. It is used "off label" but is a real god-send to us ..read more

My Cody came down with Glaucoma from having Cataracts. My vet has him on pressure drops. But sometimes his eye lens luxated. Has anyone experienced this with their Maltese baby? I can still see him in pain even with the drops? His other eye has perfect pressure. I hear it’s very painful. Any suggestions? I did hear about laser surgery and removal of the eye . However these are not options because of his situation and he also is getting to be an old man which is not recommended for... Glaucoma ..read more
